Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: E-Commerce Marketing Specialist - 1164
Compensation range: $1,200 AUD - $1,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to require roughly 15-20 hours per week. As a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your schedule, but availability for occasional collaboration during AU business hours is preferred.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. You will be hired directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you'll be able to work from home.
Who the Client Is: Our client is an Australian startup preparing to launch an innovative direct-to-consumer consumer product into the market. Backed by a founder with a clear vision for growth, the business is focused on challenging a traditional product category through modern branding, digital-first marketing, and exceptional customer experience.
Operating primarily through Shopify, the company is entering an exciting launch phase and is investing heavily in performance marketing, content, and customer acquisition. This is an opportunity to join early, work directly with the founder, and play a key role in shaping the brand's growth strategy from day one. As the business scales, there is strong potential for the role to grow into a full-time position with increased ownership and responsibility.
Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced E-Commerce Marketing Specialist who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end digital marketing initiatives.
This role is heavily focused on launching and scaling a consumer brand through performance marketing, Shopify optimisation, email marketing, and content coordination. You'll work directly with the founder to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, increase conversion rates, and build long-term customer loyalty.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, understands the entire e-commerce customer journey, and combines strategic thinking with strong execution. If you're proactive, data-driven, and excited about helping launch a new consumer brand, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the digital launch strategy, including pre-launch audience building and launch campaigns
- Plan, build, manage, and optimise paid advertising campaigns across Meta and TikTok to maximise ROAS and customer acquisition
- Manage and optimise the Shopify store, including product pages, landing pages, merchandising, and conversion rate optimisation
- Build, manage, and optimise email marketing campaigns and automated customer journeys using an email marketing platform best suited to the business (e.g. Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, or similar), including welcome flows, abandoned cart sequences, post-purchase nurturing, and retention campaigns.
- Coordinate UGC creators, influencers, and content contributors to produce engaging, high-converting creative assets
- Edit or coordinate short-form video content for paid advertising and organic social media channels using tools such as CapCut, Canva, or similar platforms
- Monitor campaign performance, analyse marketing data, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the founder
- Conduct A/B testing across creatives, landing pages, email campaigns, and advertising strategies to continuously improve performance
- Identify new customer acquisition opportunities, emerging channels, and growth initiatives as the business expands
- Stay current with e-commerce, digital marketing, and platform trends to continuously improve campaign effectiveness
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in e-commerce or digital marketing, ideally supporting direct-to-consumer (DTC) consumer brands
- Demonstrated experience launching or scaling products within an e-commerce environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify, including product management, landing pages, and conversion optimisation
- Proven experience managing Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads campaigns
- Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, ActiveCampaign, or similar) for email marketing, automation, segmentation, and customer lifecycle campaigns.
- Strong understanding of customer acquisition, conversion optimisation, customer retention, and e-commerce growth strategies
- Experience coordinating influencers, UGC creators, or content partnerships
- Comfortable creating or editing short-form video content using CapCut, Canva, or similar tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign metrics and optimise based on performance data
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including writing compelling ad copy and email campaigns
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working directly with founders and taking ownership of projects in a startup environment
Nice to Have
- Experience launching new consumer products or startup brands
- Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and Shopify Analytics
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to improve marketing workflows and content creation
- Basic graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with influencer outreach and affiliate marketing programs
- Knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices
- Experience working with Australian, US, or UK consumer brands
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that may be set up as either an independent contractor engagement or via an Employer of Record (EOR), depending on client preferences and legal structure.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Be available for meetings and collaboration during core [AEST or PHT] business hours
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor” if not employed via EOR)
This is a remote, part-time Independent Contractor engagement (approximately 20 hours per week). You'll work closely with the founder while maintaining flexibility in your schedule and collaborating during Australian business hours where required.
The role is outcomes-focused, with regular communication, campaign reporting, and strategic planning sessions. As the business grows following its product launch, there is a genuine opportunity for this role to transition into a full-time position with expanded ownership across the company's marketing function.
