Main responsibilities:
- Support the day to day operations of the Engineering and Maintenance Departments.
- Take responsibility for the proper and efficient operation of all electronic devices in the Plant.
- Support the milk and culture plant processing through a complete understanding of the Modicon PLC.
- Be the Lead in executing all Electronic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Be available off shift for Electronic support and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain a world class database of all plant PLC programs
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of all plant Electronic repairs and upgrades.
- Drive operational improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity by staying current in the field.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing Concepts to maximize improvements.
- Develop a commitment that strives on continuous improvement, promotes trust, strengthens team work and does not stray from Safety or Quality.
- Develop an unwavering commitment to the Electrical Industry Code of Conduct and Ethics.
- Adheres to all Electrical Industry Wiring Standards; Local and State.
- Adheres to Union Bargaining Agreements Guidelines.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- 2 year College Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Equivalent Progressive Field Experience.
- 2 plus years in a food manufacturing/production or industrial environment.
- 5 plus years as a progressive PLC technician.
- Extensive experience across multiple PLC Platforms
- Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix
- Rockwell SLC500/MicroLogix
- Modicon Quantum
- Experience in programming HMI’s.
- Rockwell PanelView/PanelView Plus
- Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE, Network Distributed
- Wonderware Intouch
- Must have the ability to install and upgrade operating systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and programming VFD’s. Preferably Allen Bradley.
- Thorough and extensive knowledge in electrical controls and drives.
- Must have the ability to electronically troubleshoot down to the board level.
- Must have extensive knowledge in Control Instrumentation using 4-20 ma.
- Knowledge in Electrical Codes and Ordinance a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office PC programs.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
