You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising outbound logistics activities to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient shipment of customer orders. Under the direction of a Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager, the Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for directing activities in a manner consistent with established goals and company guidelines to ensure the full and efficient operation of your assigned area. This job is onsite only at our facility in Des Plaines, IL working the second shift with payrate of 25.00/hr.
How you create impact
- Supervise and coordinate all shipments.
- Orderly stacking of product.
- Picking and staging outbound shipments following the highest possible levels of quality and productivity.
- Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
- Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
- Maintain product locator system and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
- Rotate the product as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Conduct operations per OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
- Adhere to Kuehne + Nagel’s Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment Program policies and procedures.
What we would like you to bring
- Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing and stooping.
- Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight up to 50 lbs.
- Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from the floor.
- Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
- High School diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead position where effective employee supervision applies
- Detail-oriented, customer-focused, excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Languages: English – Ability to speak, read, write, and interpret documents
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.
