VP, Engineering OCI Storage Innovation
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an experienced engineering executive to lead the next evolution of its Storage organization. This is a unique opportunity to lead one of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's most strategically important engineering organizations during a period of rapid transformation.
This leader will oversee engineering teams responsible for maintaining production services, completing several large multi-year strategic initiatives, and incubating the next generation of storage technologies. You'll help define how cloud storage evolves to support AI, agentic computing, and the next generation of enterprise applications while leading teams responsible for services that operate at global scale.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in distributed systems with a proven ability to build high-performing engineering organizations, execute large-scale transformations, and inspire teams to solve some of cloud computing's most complex infrastructure challenges.
What you’ll do
Lead a large, geographically distributed engineering organization responsible for OCI Storage innovation.
- Ensuring the reliability and continuous improvement of existing production systems.
- Delivering several large-scale, multi-year strategic infrastructure initiatives.
- Building new product incubations that will shape the future of OCI Storage.
Drive the evolution of next-generation storage platforms designed to scale across Oracle's global cloud infrastructure.
Lead architectural decisions involving distributed systems, large-scale data movement, caching strategies, latency optimization, scalability, cost efficiency, and durability versus availability tradeoffs.
Create organizational capacity that enables engineering teams to continue innovating while maintaining operational excellence.
Partner closely with engineering leaders across OCI to define long-term technical strategy and execution.
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering leaders and distributed teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
What you’ll bring
Proven success leading engineering organizations responsible for large-scale distributed systems with a focus lower in the technology stack.
Experience managing organizations of 50+ engineers, with demonstrated success building and developing engineering leaders.
Experience leading large-scale system modernization or architectural refactoring initiatives.
Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
Experience solving complex infrastructure challenges involving large-scale data movement, recovery, throttling, caching, and system reliability.
Demonstrated ability to balance execution of existing production workloads while investing in future platform innovation.
Experience leading engineering organizations within major cloud providers such as OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role. An advanced degree is a plus, but not essential.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $224,600 to $480,700 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
