We are not able to consider C2C arrangements or third-party submissions.Growing and looking for an experienced Construction Inspector to join our transportation team. We work on roadway, bridge, municipal, and transportation infrastructure projects throughout Northern Illinois, partnering with IDOT, municipalities, and public agencies to deliver quality infrastructure that keeps communities movingThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, working directly with contractors, and playing an important role in delivering major civil infrastructure projectsWhat You'll Do:Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, and transportation construction projectsVerify work is being completed according to plans, specifications, and IDOT standardsCoordinate with contractors, Resident Engineers, project managers, and agency representativesDocument daily construction activities and maintain accurate project recordsMeasure completed quantities for contractor paymentObserve material testing and verify quality control documentationIdentify field issues and help resolve construction challenges as they ariseSpend the majority of your time in the field with limited office documentationWhat We're Looking For:3+ years of construction inspection experience (DOT, transportation, or heavy civil preferred)Experience working on IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, or municipal roadway projectsStrong understanding of roadway, bridge, drainage, or utility constructionComfortable communicating with contractors and project stakeholdersStrong documentation and computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to make sound decisions in the fieldNice to Have:IDOT documentation software experienceCMMS, eBuilder, or similar construction management platformsIllinois Tollway project experienceResident Engineer experienceWhy Join? $85,000–$100,000 salaryAnnual performance bonusCompany vehicle provided100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) matchFlexible schedulingOpportunity to grow into leading your own client projects as the company continues to expandCollaborative, supportive team that enjoys working together Show more Show less Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Quality Assurance Industries Construction Referrals increase your...
