About the Role
This is a brand-new type of role at an early-stage AI-native recruiting company. We build autonomous AI agents that find candidates, write personalized outreach, handle conversations, qualify fit, and schedule interviews — end to end. We've grown to a marketplace of tens of thousands of candidates and serve hundreds of startup customers.
As a Talent AI Operator, you're not a traditional recruiter. You're the human who makes autonomous recruiting actually work. Think air traffic controller, not pilot. Our AI agents handle the volume; your job is to supervise them, catch edge cases, step in for high-judgment moments, and close candidates who need a human touch.
This is a defining, ground-floor opportunity to shape what AI-native recruiting operations looks like at scale.
What You'll Do
Supervise AI agent pipelines: Monitor live candidate conversations, flag errors, and intervene when human judgment is required.
Handle high-stakes moments: Engage senior candidates, navigate tricky objections, and manage compensation negotiations — the conversations where humans still win.
Train the agents: Review agent outputs, label good and bad responses, and write examples that make the AI smarter over time.
Quality control at scale: Audit candidate matches, outreach quality, and conversion rates across thousands of weekly touchpoints.
Close placements: Guide candidates through final stages, manage offers, and ensure successful hires.
Build the playbook: Document what works, create SOPs, and help define how humans and AI agents collaborate most effectively.
Growth Path
This role is a proving ground. Strong performers can move into:
Account Lead: Own client relationships and agent performance for key accounts.
Agent Training Lead: Own the feedback loop that continuously improves our AI.
Operations Lead: Build and manage the broader operations team as we scale.
What We're Looking For
Required:
2+ years of talent operations or recruitment experience, ideally at early-stage tech startups (pre-seed/seed).
Proven ability to design and optimize end-to-end recruitment processes — sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and candidate experience.
Experience using data to inform recruitment decisions (KPIs, dashboards, A/B tests, experiments).
Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and leadership.
Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco as needed (optional hackerhouse accommodation available).
Nice to Have:
Experience at AI/ML-oriented startups with an understanding of AI-focused hiring needs.
Familiarity with modern tech stacks (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL) to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
