Job Description

This role will play a pivotal part in managing the underwriting workflow, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that underwriting practices align with company policies and industry regulations. The positions operate in a dynamic and deadline driven environment and are well suited to those with strong processing skills and a positive, ‘can do” attitude. Trainee Underwriter/Underwriter– Commercial P&C Insurance

UW/Trainee Underwriter will support Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriting operations by reviewing insurance submissions from Broker, validating data extraction outputs, maintaining submission records, enhancing insurance terminology repositories against Product and Coverages and supporting improvement initiatives. The role is focused on ensuring data quality, supporting underwriting decision-making, Coverage and Product review and contributing to AI-ready insurance frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing insurance submissions, validating data extraction outputs from various applications, maintaining accurate submission records, enhancing insurance terminology repositories
• Complete predefined data capture templates with submission, technical rating, coverage, and location information without applying derivation or enrichment rules.
• Review insurance submission requests (emails and attachments) and identify all relevant information contained within the submission package.
• Perform quality assurance of automated extraction outputs by comparing extracted data against source documents and documenting discrepancies.
• Maintain reconciliation tables to measure extraction accuracy and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Consolidate and enhance insurance coverage and terminology dictionaries, ensuring all new terminology is reviewed
• Support the creation of translation-ready insurance terminology repositories for future AI and language model initiatives.
• Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), recommend process improvements, develop operational checklists, and help make processes AI-ready.
• Consolidate insurance Product/Coverage content, dictionaries, and reference materials into centralized SharePoint while ensuring data quality
• Strong knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance and related underwriting processes.
