META HSE&C Advisor

The META HSE&C Advisor plays a critical role in strengthening health, safety, environmental and compliance performance across the North, West & East Africa (NWEA) portfolio while supporting broader META HSE&C priorities. Based in Cairo, Egypt, the role provides partnership, assurance, governance and risk management support across a geographically diverse portfolio covering more than 25 countries, Joint Venture operations, contractor-intensive activities and customer-facing business functions. The position works closely with business leaders to strengthen operational resilience, critical risk management, driving safety, contractor management, security, crisis preparedness and business continuity capability. As an integrated member of the META HSE&C team, the role contributes to the implementation of HSE&C management systems, assurance programmes, compliance activities and strategic HSE&C initiatives across the wider META region.

In this role You will:

  • Governance & Assurance:
  • Strengthen implementation of the META HSE&C Management System across NWEA operations.
  • Deliver assurance activities to verify effectiveness of critical risk controls.
  • Support regulatory compliance and licence-to-operate requirements.
  • Provide HSE&C governance support to business leadership teams and Joint Ventures.
  • Risk Management:
  • Facilitate identification, assessment and management of operational risks.
  • Support implementation of risk mitigation plans and critical control verification.
  • Drive continuous improvement in risk management processes and performance.
  • Driving Safety, Travel & Security:
  • Strengthen Driving safety programmes across the NWEA portfolio.
  • Support journey management governance and travel risk assessments.
  • Contribute to security risk management and high-risk travel reviews.
  • Joint Venture & Contractor Management:
  • Support governance and assurance activities across Egypt and Kenya JV operations.
  • Strengthen contractor and third-party HSE&C performance.
  • Improve visibility and management of contractor-related risks.
  • Crisis & Business Continuity:
  • Support emergency preparedness, crisis response and business continuity planning activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations and organizational learning processes.
  • Enhance business resilience through proactive preparedness and assurance activities.
  • Leadership & Culture:
  • Partner with business leaders to strengthen HSE&C culture and leadership engagement.
  • Support capability development and coaching initiatives.
  • Promote continuous improvement and learning across the organizationEtc.

What You will need to be successful:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of HSE&C experience in operational, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial or multi-site environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in HSE management systems and risk management processes.
  • Experience supporting contractor and third-party management programmes.
  • Experience conducting audits, assurance activities and incident investigations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience working across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • NEBOSH Diploma, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
