Editor, Deals (Coupons) Editorial Remote - India Apply Description Position at Consumer Tech The Opportunity:CNET Group — home to CNET, PCMag, ZDNET, Mashable and Lifehacker — seeks an experienced Deals Editor to join our editorial commerce team. The successful candidate is passionate about helping everyday people find legitimate, outstanding deals on quality products. This role will research, vet, and write articles showcasing live deals. It will also edit and update team work, ensuring accuracy.The successful candidate exercises keen attention to detail, is adept at following and upholding editorial standards, and is an excellent writer and verbal communicator who engages readers and teammates alike. This person works quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment, thinks on their feet, and can motivate others to perform their best work. As an editor who is also a terrific writer, they have experience overseeing group work. They are the consummate team player who collaborates effectively with others across time zones, including collaboration with US-based teammates. This role requires original, human-generated work at all times, in adherence with our editorial policy. The Deals Editor reports to and works closely with the Director of Commerce, and with colleagues across the Commerce team.Candidates will demonstrate their skill in a writing test.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and edit the work of Deals colleagues according to editorial standardsResearch, vet, and write deals content, verifying accuracy and editorial best practices, including documentationHelp maintain a workflow for identifying new and updated deals contentCollaborate closely with Edit colleagues across teams and time zonesThink critically – As an editor, it’s crucial that you’re a critical thinker who can identify and escalate potential issues, make suggestions, quickly adopt learnings, and follow-up with team members and leadersJob Qualifications:2+ years of editing experience or commensurate, preferably in service journalism2+ years of writing experience or commensurate, preferably in service journalismAble to handle multiple projects with short deadlinesComfortable getting into the weeds on topics you are not an expert in, to ensure submitted writing is accurate and authoritativeWillingness to occasionally work outside of standard hours to support business needs during major eventsAbout CNET Group:CNET Group (part of Ziff Davis) represents a growing portfolio of trusted digital media brands—including CNET, PCMag, Mashable, Lifehacker, and ZDNet—specializing in tech reviews, news, and advice.
