Rep Financial/ Baymeadows | Full-Time | Day

Overview

Reports directly to the Department Manager/Supervisor, this role is responsible for completing patient admission and registration functions, as well as supporting related financial processes. The position serves as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure efficient and accurate patient account management.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient admission and registration processes in an accurate and timely manner.
• Perform admission-related financial functions, including billing and collection support.
• Serve as a point of contact for walk-in patients and incoming telephone inquiries related to patient accounts.
• Provide guidance and assistance to patients regarding billing, insurance, and account concerns.
• Collaborate with patients, nurses, physicians, and internal departments to resolve account issues.
• Independently research and resolve outstanding patient account issues without escalation when appropriate.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling patient financial and demographic information.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree, CHAA certification, (Certified Healthcare Access Associate). or experience in a healthcare/medical insurance environment preferred.

Experience

• Three (3) to five (5) years of customer service experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare setting.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of insurance requirements preferred.
• Strong decision-making skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, organize workflow, and manage competing responsibilities.
• Ability to perform cashiering functions accurately and professionally.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in stressful situations.
• Proficiency in a Windows-based PC environment with typing speed of at least 25 words per minute.
