Enterprise RIA - Associate Relationship Manager
The Enterprise RIA Associate Relationship Manager serves as a critical bridge between the Enterprise RIA team and the broader distribution organization. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of strategic relationship management and internal sales enablement, responsible for deepening partnerships with our most significant RIA firms while simultaneously embedding Enterprise into the daily rhythm of pod activity. The Enterprise RIA ARM ensures that IACs, ACs, and Market Leaders have the knowledge, tools, and support they need to engage confidently and effectively with Enterprise RIA clients — making it easier for pods to consult, convert, and grow within our top-tier firms.
This is not a passive support role. The Enterprise RIA ARM is a proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial contributor who identifies opportunities to integrate Enterprise priorities into pod workflows, campaigns, and pipeline conversations, driving measurable activity and business outcomes across the channel.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Strategic Partnership Support The Enterprise RIA ARM partners closely with lead Account Managers and Relationship Manager to support the strategic plan at top-tier Enterprise RIA firms. This includes coordinating conference and webinar planning, managing client communications, overseeing meeting preparation and follow-up, and ensuring that recurring deliverables are executed with consistency and quality. The ARM develops and maintains a deep understanding of partner firm platforms, operational processes, and decision-making structures to anticipate needs and respond with agility.
Pod Engagement and Enablement A defining feature of this role is the ability to activate and align the internal pod structure — IACs, ACs, and Market Leaders — around Enterprise RIA opportunities. The Enterprise RIA ARM leads regular touchpoints with pods to share firm-specific intelligence, highlight priority opportunities, and translate Enterprise-level strategy into actionable outreach and follow-up for the desk. By serving as the connective tissue between Enterprise and the pods, this role ensures that advisors within Enterprise RIA firms receive a consistent, informed, and high-quality experience at every point of contact.
Business Development and Pipeline Management The Enterprise RIA ARM engages actively on business development by establishing clear goals and objectives in partnership with Relationship Management and Investment Specialist teams. This includes managing pipeline targets, supporting business retention efforts, and identifying creative ways to bring Enterprise initiatives into pod campaigns, blitzes, and territory management plans. The ARM profiles Enterprise RIA firms and their affiliated advisors, maintains a thorough understanding of the sales process, and documents all activity accurately within Salesforce CRM to ensure pipeline visibility and accountability.
Client Servicing and Internal Liaison Working directly alongside the Investment Specialist team, the Enterprise RIA ARM provides hands-on client servicing support across marketing materials, agreements, operations, RFIs, and client communications. The ARM acts as a reliable liaison for internal inquiries, connecting the dots across distribution, marketing, investment teams, and the client experience team to deliver seamless service. The ability to obtain timely, accurate responses to ad-hoc client inquiries depends on the ARM maintaining a comprehensive and current knowledge base of Nuveen's product offerings and firm structure.
Market Knowledge and Product Fluency The Enterprise RIA ARM stays current with portfolio developments, financial market trends, and the full Nuveen product suite — including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, ETFs, closed-end funds, and alternative structures such as non-traded REITs and BDCs. This fluency enables the ARM to speak credibly with both pod members and Enterprise RIA partners, supporting education, promotion, and consultative dialogue across the product spectrum.
Relationship Development The Enterprise RIA ARM cultivates professional relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners, approaching every interaction with a customer service orientation and entrepreneurial mindset. The ARM understands the unique needs of each Enterprise RIA firm and the advisors within them, positioning Nuveen's capabilities as relevant and differentiated solutions.
