About the Role
We're a seed-stage AI infrastructure startup (Y Combinator / top-tier VC backed) building the go-to sandbox environment for teams developing and testing AI agents. Our platform lets engineering teams run their agents against stateful, production-like "twins" of third-party services — safely, repeatably, and without touching live systems.
As our Head of Growth, you'll be the first dedicated growth hire at a 2–10 person company, working directly with the founders to build the growth engine from scratch. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at the intersection of product, marketing, and sales in one of the fastest-moving sectors in tech: AI agent tooling.
What You'll Do
Define and execute the end-to-end growth strategy — spanning developer acquisition, product-led growth loops, and pipeline generation.
Identify and prioritize the highest-leverage channels (content, community, partnerships, events, paid, outbound) for reaching AI/ML engineers and platform teams.
Build and own the demand-generation funnel: from awareness through activation, retention, and expansion.
Work closely with engineering to instrument and optimize the product for PLG motions — trials, onboarding, usage milestones, and upgrade triggers.
Develop and distribute content that resonates with a technical developer audience (e.g., blogs, tutorials, case studies, conference talks).
Establish relationships in the AI developer ecosystem — open-source communities, AI agent frameworks, and developer tool ecosystems.
Set up analytics and reporting to track and improve key growth metrics (CAC, activation rate, time-to-value, MRR growth).
Eventually build and lead a small growth team as the company scales.
What We're Looking For
Required:
Proven track record driving growth at a developer-focused or B2B SaaS company — ideally at the seed or early Series A stage.
Deep understanding of developer go-to-market motions (PLG, developer community, bottom-up SaaS).
Comfortable with data: you set up your own tracking, run experiments, and make decisions based on evidence.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to craft messaging for a technical audience.
Highly autonomous — you can operate with minimal process and build structure where none exists.
Nice to Have:
Background in AI/ML tooling, DevOps, testing infrastructure, or developer platforms.
Experience marketing to AI engineers or agent development teams.
Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, API-first products, or sandbox/testing environments.
Technical background (engineering degree or prior engineering experience).
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity.
Direct influence over company strategy and trajectory.
Visa sponsorship available.
Location
This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA. We work together in person — we're a small, fast-moving team and believe in the energy of working side by side.
