This is a Project Based role in Boise Idaho and the project will end November 2026.

Summary:

Responsible for Shaw's field presence and for the interface with the general contractor. The role advises on the receipt and installation of Shaw-supplied modules and protects Shaw's technical and commercial position at site. It does not direct the installing subcontractor's workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Shaw at site and hold the primary interface with the general contractor's construction management.
  • Own interface management across the yard, the general contractor, the installing subcontractor and Shaw's home office functions, and resolve interface conflicts at field level where they fall within delegated authority.
  • Chair Shaw field coordination daily and attend the general contractor's construction coordination meeting.
  • Own delivery of the field execution plan at site, including the interface protocol.
  • Direct the daily priorities of the Field Engineer and QA/QC Field Representative, and task the off-site Logistics Coordinator and Site Support functions against site need.
  • Identify field risk, enter it in the project risk register and own the field mitigation actions.
  • Identify change and variation arising at site and notify the Project Manager before Shaw commits to any additional work.
  • Determine rework and warranty responsibility for Shaw scope within delegated authority and own the Shaw-scope punch list to closure.
  • Hold accountability for HSE compliance of all Shaw personnel on site, working to the general contractor's site rules.
  • Own lessons learned capture during execution rather than close-out.
  • Ensures all work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Enforces company safety policies and ensures compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and general contractor regarding progress, issues, and changes.
  • Reviews and interprets blueprints, shop drawings, and erection plans.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Identifies and resolves field issues, conflicts, or discrepancies in plans.
  • Oversees quality control to ensure structural integrity and adherence to welding and bolting standards.
  • Documents project progress, reports, and field changes.
  • Ensure employees perform only work for which they are trained and authorized.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional construction or technical training preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural steel erection, with at least 5 years supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel systems, erection methods, and construction practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of module setting or heavy mechanical installation.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Rely on extensive experience, judgment, and established guidelines to accomplish goals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to reach, stand, walk, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and perform repetitive motion.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Must be capable of traveling by car or airplane as needed to support business activities.
