About the role:
We are currently searching for a motivated individual to join our Centre of Excellence (CoE) department as a Data Analyst specializing in Natural Catastrophes and climate change-related topics. The ideal candidate will be supporting our US-based client in effectively managing natural catastrophe risks. The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the maintenance and advancement of NatCat products, which involves providing assistance in upholding and enhancing data collection and quality control procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- The main responsibility is the evaluation and assessment of catastrophe risk models
- This process involves:
- Archiving Submission materials (modeling files, UW narratives etc.)
- Modeling in TouchStone/Verisk and validating the results against those provided by the Cedant
- Working in Aqua – importing files, updating CLF columns, categorizing data by peril, and running the EP curve analysis to obtain results
- Update of excel spreadsheets with results from Aqua and Submission files
- Update of FOT (firm order terms) in Aqua - based on the documentation provided by the cedant
- Support of the UW and another teams
- Conduct research on specific topics related to NatCat risks
Experience Required:
- Master’s degree in Management, Economics, or Information Technology or other relevant fields
- 2+ years professional industry experience in Insurance, Reinsurance, Finance or Banking
Your skills:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail, highly organized and process driven
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Familiarity and interest in the re/insurance business
- Programming skills, esp. Python, R, VBA or another computer language are welcome but not required
- Ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish results in a cross-functional team environment
- Open and adaptable to potentially support different clients
