Advanced Project Engineer, Gas Turbine Engines
As an Advanced APU Project Engineer here at Honeywell working on the 36 Series and RE220 and HGT400 APUs, you will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, foster collaboration and ensure effective project coordination.
You will report directly to our Sr. Program Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
In this role, you will impact the company's success by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of complex engineering products, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Work directly with airframers and operators to resolve in-service engineering issues
• Work with functional experts to identify root cause and corrective actions for complex and ambiguous technical challenges
• Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to advance programs through the IRB process
• Develop technical change proposals for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) customers to resolve SRDs and other technical issues
• Proactively manage and mitigate project risks to maintain project performance
• Provide technical guidance and support to project newer team members
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
• 3+ years of experience in project engineering or related roles
• Prior experience and technical knowledge of gas turbine engines
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex engineering projects
• Experience in risk management and problem-solving to mitigate project risks and issues effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
WE VALUE
• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies relevant to engineering projects
• Experience with earned value management systems
• Knowledge of auxiliary power units (APU) and APU installations
