Role: Account Director
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
About the role:
This is an opportunity to join OLIVER's in-house studio embedded with UStudio, as an Account Director leading the delivery of world-class beauty and personal care content across global and regional markets.
Based in Indonesia, you'll own the client relationship across a portfolio of beauty brands guiding a multidisciplinary creative team to produce best-in-class content for social, eCommerce, social commerce, and emerging AI-powered production channels. Your ability to build trust with senior clients will create the conditions for ambitious, effective creative work that sets a new benchmark for in-house studio output.
We support flexible working and are open to different arrangements. We offer reasonable adjustments throughout the process.
As Account Director, you are the primary client partner and studio lead for a portfolio of beauty and personal care brands. You balance strategic thinking with operational precision anticipating problems before they arise, managing client and internal expectations, and creating the conditions for excellent creative work at every level of complexity.
You work in close partnership with Creative and Strategy, are fluent in the brand and category debates shaping your clients' portfolios, and know what best-in-class beauty content looks like across digital, social, and physical channels. You bring a clear, practical understanding of how generative AI and emerging technologies are reshaping content production in the beauty space and you help your team and clients navigate that shift with confidence and rigour.
What you will be doing:
- Own the client relationship end to end: lead day-to-day engagement, manage senior stakeholder relationships, and act as the trusted strategic partner across a portfolio of beauty and personal care brands.
- Translate client briefs into clear, actionable direction for the studio assigning the right creative resource to each project and sequencing workloads to meet quality and deadline expectations.
- Champion creative ambition throughout the client process, protecting the quality of work while managing timings, scopes, and stakeholder expectations.
- Act as brand guardian across your portfolio, ensuring consistency, integrity, and distinctiveness across all outputs from global hero campaigns to locally adapted digital assets.
- Lead process development and maintain clear internal and external communication to keep projects on track and workflows efficient.
- Present work confidently to clients and senior stakeholders, framing creative decisions in terms of brand strategy, channel effectiveness, and business outcomes.
- Partner with the Creative Director on resource planning, ensuring the studio has the right capability and capacity to deliver against evolving client needs.
- Lead the adoption and responsible use of Gen AI tools within your workflow and across the team identifying where AI can accelerate content production, improve output quality, and create new value for beauty clients.
- Stay ahead of emerging platforms, production methods, and AI-powered tools relevant to beauty content, sharing knowledge proactively with clients and the wider studio.
Budget and Production Management
- Manage account-level production budgets; own forecasting, cost estimation, purchase orders, invoicing, and reconciliation.
- Drive cost efficiencies across studio output without compromising creative quality; report financial performance against forecast to OLIVER and client stakeholders.
What you need to be great in this role:
Client and Category
- A track record of senior client management within beauty, cosmetics, skincare, or personal care or within FMCG with a demonstrable understanding of the beauty category and its content demands.
- Experience working within or alongside a client-side team, with a clear understanding of how to deliver agency-level service within an embedded model.
- Deep knowledge of beauty-specific content channels: social media (Instagram, TikTok), eCommerce, social commerce, and digital campaigns across global and regional markets.
- Familiarity with content adaptation and localisation at scale across multiple markets and languages.
Creative and Strategic
- Ability to identify and articulate what makes beauty content effective across both creative craft and commercial results.
- Confident working in close partnership with Creative and Strategy teams to shape, develop, and protect the quality of work from brief through to delivery.
- Clear, structured communication with senior clients to be able to frame creative and strategic recommendations with authority and evidence.
Operational and Financial
- Experience managing account-level budgets, including forecasting, project finance, supplier negotiation, and reconciliation.
- Strong project management skills: able to lead multiple workstreams simultaneously across a complex client portfolio without losing momentum or quality.
Gen AI & Agentic Thinking
- Experience establishing AI quality standards and governance for a creative team with specific knowledge of AI tools relevant to beauty content production, including AI-assisted image generation, copy, content scaling, and localisation.
- Ability to integrate Gen AI tools across team workflows and client deliverables, with a clear view of where AI enhances output and where human craft and judgement remain essential.
- Confident guiding the team and clients in responsible AI adoption including an understanding of representation, inclusivity, and brand authenticity considerations specific to beauty content.
- Agentic approach to leadership: systematic problem-solving across complex, multi-stakeholder creative and operational challenges.
- Actively drives AI innovation within the studio and contributes to best practice across the OLIVER network.
- Qualifications: Formal degrees are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts. Experience can be gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
