AI Specialist (Technical Leadership) - Product and Applied Research Responsibilities:

  1. Help advance the science and technology of intelligent machines
  1. Assist in goal setting related to project impact and system architecture
  1. Develop custom/novel architectures, define use cases, and develop methodologies and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches
  1. Apply in-depth knowledge of how the AI system interacts with the other systems around it
  1. Technically lead in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural trade-offs required to rapidly deliver software solutions
  1. Mentor other AI engineers & improve the quality of AI work in the broader team
  1. Drive the team's goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that make your larger organization more efficient
  1. Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail
  1. Develop clean, readable code and debug complex problems that span systems
  1. Understand industry and company-wide trends to help assess and develop new technologies
  1. Partner and collaborate with organization leaders to help improve the level of performance of the team and the organization
  1. Identify new opportunities for the larger organization and influence the appropriate people for staffing and prioritizing these new ideas
  1. Work on tech development projects, strategies, and problems of moderate to high complexity and scope. Can identify and define both short-term and medium-term objectives
  1. Establish connections with cross-functional partners and contribute to research with the goal of applying to Meta's product development
  1. Design policies, processes, procedures, methods, tests, and/or components from the ground up for end-to-end systems

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  1. Specialized experience in one or more of the domains: LLM post-training, agentic technology and product development, Gen AI product applications
  1. Experience developing modeling algorithms or infrastructure in C/C++ or Python

  1. In-depth experience with the agentic framework and product development
  1. Experience in one or more of the following machine learning domains: NLP, recommendation systems, data mining, or information retrieval
  1. 4+ years of experience as a technical lead for a project of 4 or more individuals
  1. Experience of driving 0-1 AI product development
  1. Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment
  1. A PhD or equivalent R&D experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field
  1. In-depth experience with LLM post-training alignment and reinforcement learning
  1. Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, trade-offs, and broad points of view to determine a path forward

Public Compensation:

$219,000/year to $301,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
