Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy computer vision algorithms, machine learning models, and AI solutions to address business challenges such as object detection, anomaly detection, classification, behaviour analysis, and intelligent data querying.
  • Design, build, maintain, and automate scalable data pipelines to collect, clean, and transform operational data for AI and analytics applications.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, and Centres of Excellence to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and propose practical AI-driven solutions.
  • Lead and contribute to agile proof-of-concept (POC) projects, conducting experiments in realistic environments to validate, optimize, and ensure the robustness of AI models for deployment.
  • Transform existing operational processes by applying Data Science and AI to improve efficiency, automate manual workflows, and enable data-driven decision-making in manufacturing, test, and maintenance operations.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, computer vision, and data engineering, proactively exploring and championing innovative technologies that create business value.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, contribute to patentable innovations, share knowledge through technical presentations, and, for Senior Engineers, provide technical leadership and mentorship within the AI and computer vision domain.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with specialization in Data Science and AI.
  • At least 1 year of software engineering experience, including significant hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML-powered applications and platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning, with a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C, and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV) and MLOps concepts (e.g. KubeFlow).
  • Solid understanding of deep learning architectures and algorithms like CNN and vision transformer, particularly in the context of image and video analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

At Thales, we’re committed to fostering a workplace where respect, trust, collaboration, and passion drive everything we do. Here, you’ll feel empowered to bring your best self, thrive in a supportive culture, and love the work you do. Join us, and be part of a team reimagining technology to create solutions that truly make a difference – for a safer, greener, and more inclusive world.
