Job Description Summary:
About the Program
The Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship is a four-year program, or for the duration specified under the Standards-Based Apprenticeship Scheme. It combines hands-on workplace experience with structured college-based learning.
Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training both on site at Coca-Cola Ballina and through the relevant educational institution, building the technical knowledge and practical experience needed for a rewarding career in electrical instrumentation. What you will do for us
- Work to health & safety requirements, always.
- Learn and understand the operation of equipment in the plant including installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills on fixing and solving equipment issues including electrical, mechanical and instrumentation issues.
- Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on operations equipment.
- Drive equipment improvement and minimize downtime on equipment.
- Clear understanding of equipment performance measures
- Capable of using a computerized maintenance management system to record all activity.
- Use Mathematics to solve technical or scientific problems.
- Interpret and understand technical drawings diagrams.
- Participate in an Agile methodology.
- Have ambition to learn new skills and competencies and the desire to develop these throughout the training program.
Qualifications Requirements
The minimum requirement for entry into the proposed program are as follows:
- Leaving Certificate or approved equivalent with minimum Grade C in five subjects which must include Mathematics, English, Engineering/Science subject.
- Ishihara eye vision test in line with EI Generation Apprenticeship requirements.
- This application is open to anyone who is 18 years of age or over on August 12, 2026.
Skill Requirements
- Ability to work within all aspects of health & safety requirements.
- Aptitude for mechanical / electrical / instrumentation with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to solve problems and seek out improvement opportunities in partnership and under the supervision of an experienced Technician.
- Quality focused, well organized, and careful with practical tasks.
- Ability to use math's to solve technical or scientific problems with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently on one’s own initiative.
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
- An ambition to learn new skills and competencies and the desire to develop these throughout the Apprenticeship program.
- Ambition to learn the principles of Operational Excellence and how they operate in a manufacturing environment.
