Astrion has an exciting opportunity for Junior Contracts Representative. The Junior Contracts Representative independently administers government prime contracts and subcontracts of lower complexity from award through closeout, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The role exercises developing contractual judgment in daily execution, seeks guidance from senior contracts personnel when needed, and escalates complex or high-risk matters appropriately. This position utilizes enterprise CLM and approved AI tools to support efficient, accurate, and compliant contract administration while building advanced contracting expertise.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant contracts administration experience; OR
  • 5+ years of related contracts administration experience in lieu of a degree.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Basic to working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable agency supplements.
  • Familiarity with common federal contract types such as CPFF, CPAF, FFP, and T&M.

Contract Administration & Compliance

  • Ability to independently administer lower-complexity contracts while seeking guidance from senior contracts personnel as needed. 
  • Developing knowledge of federal government contracting practices and regulatory compliance requirements with the ability to apply regulatory guidance in routine situations. 
  • Ability to research contractual issues, exercise sound judgment in routine matters, and escalate moderate or higher complexity issues appropriately.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS 

  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance, if required.
  • NCMA certification (CFCM or CCCM) or progress toward certification preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently administer prime contracts and subcontracts of routine or lower complexity from award through closeout, ensuring timely execution, accurate documentation, and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assist with proposal activities, including review of solicitations, preparation of representations and certifications, and participation in color team reviews to support compliance and completeness.
  • Prepare and process contract modifications, subcontract agreements, teaming agreements, and NDAs with oversight and review by senior contracts staff.
  • Monitor contract funding, deliverables, and reporting requirements; proactively identify potential issues and escalate complex, high-risk, or non-routine matters to senior contracts personnel.
  • Draft routine contractual correspondence and coordinate internal and external communications.
  • Maintain organized and accurate contract files in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Apply FAR, DFARS, and applicable agency supplements in routine contract administration activities, seeking clarification or guidance when addressing unfamiliar or complex regulatory matters.
  • Serve as a supporting contractual contact for internal stakeholders and external customers, escalating complex matters appropriately.
  • Participate in team meetings and training opportunities to develop technical knowledge and professional skills.
  • Utilize Icertis CLM and approved AI-assisted tools, including Icertis Copilot and the company-approved ChatGPT tool, in daily contract administration activities to improve efficiency, documentation accuracy, and compliance under appropriate oversight.
