About the Role

As a Production Planner, you will support medium- and long-term production planning activities, helping to ensure materials, forecasts and production data are aligned to business requirements. This role plays an important part in strengthening planning capability at the Glenrothes site while supporting wider global planning initiatives.

Working closely with manufacturing, procurement and supply chain teams, you will analyse planning data, maintain planning systems and contribute to operational performance improvements. You will also provide cover for the Master Production Planner when required.

You'll become part of a collaborative Global Planning team with colleagues based across the UK, Denmark and Brazil. The team works together through regular global collaboration while supporting local manufacturing operations.

  • Support medium- and long-term production planning activities. 

  • Maintain production forecasts, demand information and planning data. 

  • Monitor material availability against future production requirements. 

  • Maintain planning master data within ERP and Advanced Planning systems. 

  • Generate planning reports, KPIs and data analysis to support business decisions. 

  • Analyse forecast accuracy and identify opportunities for planning improvements. 

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain teams to improve planning performance. 

  • Support capacity planning activities and identify potential planning constraints. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within planning processes. 

  • Provide planning support and cover for the Master Production Planner during periods of absence. 

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in production planning, manufacturing, supply chain or materials planning. 

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle experience advantageous but not essential). 

  • Experience analysing operational data and producing reports. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Good organisational and time management abilities. 

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. 

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyse data using functions, formulas and Pivot Tables.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Planning or a related discipline. 

  • Experience using Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) systems such as Siemens Opcenter. 

  • Experience supporting forecasting or inventory planning activities. 

  • Knowledge of capacity planning and material planning concepts. 

  • Experience within machining, industrial manufacturing, oil & gas or other heavy manufacturing environments. 

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles. 

  • Experience supporting business process or system improvement initiatives.
