BAE Systems C4ISR Business Area is seeking a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer in the Space Systems RFx Product Line. This position will be a key member of Space Systems Program teams in the Merrimack 24 facility. The focus for this responsibility is ensuring robust process execution and efficiencies in the development, testing, and release of the software/firmware deliverables.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support software Development activities including actions improve performance and to resolve issues
- Interface with the Customer counterpart for testing activities and managing issues post delivery
- Overseeing software/firmware rollouts and updates to ensure smooth implementation and required performance
- Witness and approve all levels of product testing and support formal product release/selloff
- Create, maintain, and approve programmatic control documents
- Attending software/firmware design reviews as required
- Investigative and troubleshooting skills & ability to assess issues and develop solutions
- Perform internal audits specific to programs and support Customer audits as required
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study and 4-6+ years of experience or 8-10+ years of engineering experience in lieu of degree
- Active Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance level and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) caveats
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g. AS9100, CMMI, AS9145)
- Experience with software build, test and validation using Agile Project Management methodologies (Scrum framework) and deployment in both localized and cloud-based environments
- Experience with computer systems configurations (servers/rack-systems) and configuration management
- Experience with various tools/operating systems (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Linux/Unix, Windows, etc.)
- Experienced with root cause, corrective action and preventative measures (RCCAPA) in a software development environment including strong problem-solving skills to support solutions with the Customer
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering
- Experience in developing tools to test and validate software in an Agile environment (Scrum Master)
- Possess Active Top-Secret Clearance (TS/SCI) and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
- Experience in Software Code development (C++, Java, Python, etc.)
- Experience in database management systems (SQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Ability to generate test codes to ensure requirements are both verified and compliant
- Experienced with quality tools and methodologies (e.g. 8D and Lean Six Sigma)
- Experience with Software Risk Management and development using AS9145
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
