Job Description
Business Analyst – Business Finance
Job Description
Role Overview
As a Business Analyst at Purplle.com, you will be at the forefront of driving our daily and monthly revenue and profitability targets through precise, data-backed financial decision-making. You will leverage AI-powered automation & expert-level Python programming to continuously monitor P&L performance, identify critical financial gaps, and uncover hidden cost and margin trends. In this fast-paced e-commerce environment, you will act as a strategic finance partner to cross-functional teams, ensuring swift, data-driven course corrections that directly impact the company's bottom line.
Key Responsibilities
AI-Driven Automation & Process Improvement
Design, develop, and integrate automated workflows using AI tools to streamline financial reporting, accelerate variance and gap analysis, and speed up trend identification across large financial datasets.
Gross Margin Reporting
Own the periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) reporting of gross margins at the category and SKU level, in a standardized, pre-defined format for leadership consumption.
Ensure the numbers are accurate, timely, and consistent across reporting cycles.
Query Resolution
Respond to requests from business and leadership on cohort performance, revenue trends, and related metrics — pull, structure, and present the data in the required format.
Go a step further to analyze the data (drivers, anomalies, so-what) rather than just presenting raw numbers.
Dynamic Financial Reporting & Visualization
Architect and maintain automated, self-serve leadership dashboards (Power BI, Looker, Data Studio, or similar) for P&L and budget-vs-actual reporting.
Ensure complex financial insights are communicated in a clear, consistent format.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Marketing, Category, Product, Operations, and Finance/Accounts.
Act as the central financial data authority for all revenue, cohort, and margin queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications
2- 4 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Experience with SQL/Python
Experience in Excel compulsory
Critical thinking and problem-solving proficiency.
Strong Analytical skills with a solution-orientated approach to any problems faced.
Ability to translate data into actionable insights
Good communication skills, team spirit, enthusiasm
Proactively contributing to the team
