The Director, Digital Health has the responsibility for identifying, conceptualizing, evaluating and prioritizing digital health products and services. The incumbent will be the single point of contact accountable for moving the project from inception to reasonable maturity with stakeholders in Cell Therapy and across the organization. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify opportunities for DH Solutions to enhance patient outcomes in the context of BMS assets by closely collaborating with the relevant Cell Therapy Development and/or Brand teams globally
- Partner with clinical teams, translational research, and market access to embed digital solutions (such as Software as a Medical Device - SaMD and remote patient monitoring) into cell therapy clinical care delivery and trial design
- Drive the development of regulated digital health solutions and real-world data platforms that complement BMS’s biomarker-driven cell therapy portfolio.
- Collaborate with leading academic institutions, technology vendors, and strategic alliances to advance digital initiatives from preclinical phases to lifecycle strategy.
- Ideate potential Digital solutions and opportunities in the CAR-T and Cell Therapy space embedding external and internal stakeholder input
- Build the solution’s Business Case through robust analytics and thorough prioritization based on ROI, success probability, efforts, timelines etc. and present a compelling case to relevant sponsors. This includes the development and execution of Proof of Concept or feasibility studies to validate above hypothesis.
- Develop and maintain deep DH expertise including technology evolutions, key players, regulation updates etc.
- Partner with DH business development and CI to keep abreast with competitive insight and landscape.
- Ensure adoption of methodologies utilized by lean start-ups that allows for speed, agility, patient/provider experience, combined with effective decision-making within a large and matrixed organization.
- Coordinates closely with the DH colleagues to ensure DH tools that solve unmet medical needs, are developed effectively and efficiently and have a clear line of sight to value capture for BMS over time.
- Challenge the status quo to adopt new approaches. Embodies a collaborative leadership mindset, subject matter expertise, and willingness to listen, share, and learn from a cross-functional team. This leader helps bridge the gap between the traditional pharma capabilities / processes and the digital health / technology space.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Drives the projects forward to achieve significant acceleration of time to market for Digital Projects in BMS by applying sharp prioritization, Agile methodologies, Minimum Viable Product mindset and cross functional leadership
- Identifies partnerships both within and outside the organization to solve patient monitoring, engagement and HCP facing challenges related to Cell Therapy, CAR-T, side effects, remote patient monitoring, patient safety and market expansion.
- Lead the project from problem identification to solution ideation and analysis to inception, and product development and delivery, serving as the single point of contact and cross-functional leader to identify high quality digital health assets that truly improved patient outcomes, and enhances the value of our medicines in moments that matter across the treatment journey
- Lead and influence the collaboration with cross company expertise in drug development, clinical trial design, data science, cybersecurity, data privacy and other subject matter experts to deliver robust & compliant solutions
- Collaborates effectively with Legal and Contracting to establish optimal frameworks for DH collaborations
- Mobilizes and aligns the organization, including effective decision making and governance, to execute on the approved strategy
- Communicates and collaborates with senior leaders, functional area stakeholders, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of digital program operational plans with functional area capabilities to establish the working team charter
- Drive the commercialization and scaling of Cell Therapy, remote patient monitoring and other digital health solutions
- Navigates complex and dynamic internal and external healthcare environment; brings an agile and continuous improvement mindset by utilizing unbiased, factual assessments to drive rapid change management
- Support the development of KPIs that determine utility & adoption of digital health solutions; develop an analytics strategy to collect measures of success & validate solutions; Supports the development of post-launch end-user support systems to ensure service levels & sustained engagement
- Supports regulatory strategy, preparation and Health Authority engagements including FDA relating to DH product development (e.g. SaMDs)
- Collaborative, and develops and promotes a workplace culture that values diversity of thought, promotes integrity, and creates an atmosphere that supports coaching and fosters accountability
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, health tech, healthcare, pharma marketing, or related field required. An Advanced degree is preferred.
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of experience in digital health/health tech, or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing the development and launch of Digital Health solutions/SaMD, medical technologies, and/or AI algorithms in the healthcare space
- Proven track record of managing third-party relationships and oversight of complex partnerships
- Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional teams and projects on a global scale
- Experience with navigating complex organizations with cross functional teams and taking projects through governance processes
- Strong Project and Program Management skills; experience in Agile methodologies and running sprints, software development teams
- Expertise in leading DH programs at a Health Tech, Medical Device or pharmaceutical is desirable
- Successful track record of leading through influence (without direct authority) and working across complex, global organizational matrices
- Cell Therapy or Oncology background desirable

Compensation Overview:
Madison - Giralda - NJ - US: $189,890 - $230,102 Princeton - NJ - US: $189,890 - $230,102
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
