Position Summary

The Junior Data Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data infrastructure to meet the organization's evolving data needs. Under the guidance of senior data engineers, the role assists in integrating data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency, and contributing to scalable data solutions. The Junior Data Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and gains hands-on experience with data architecture, governance, and pipeline optimization.

What will your job entail?

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integrations to support business operations and analytics needs.
  • Supports the maintenance of data storage solutions including data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring data is accessible, accurate, and reliable.
  • Contributes to data governance efforts by helping enforce data quality standards, security protocols, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performs data mapping, maintains data dictionaries, and assists in profiling data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Assists in monitoring and troubleshooting the performance of data systems and databases, identifying and escalating issues as needed.
  • Supports data integration processes to facilitate the seamless flow of information between different systems and platforms.
  • Participates in the design and documentation of data models, schemas, and integration interfaces under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Learns and applies emerging best practices in data management, engineering, and tooling to continuously improve data solutions.
  • Communicates progress, findings, and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical team members.

Work Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Commensurate work experience will be considered.
  • 0–2 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field; internship or project-based experience welcome.

The target salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
