Nutritional Services Team Lead – Full-Time

Job Summary
The Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) Lead oversees daily operations across café, patient dining, and sanitation areas to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality foodservice delivery. This position serves as a working lead by supporting food production, tray line operations, patient meal delivery, dishroom activities, and retail services while guiding team members and promoting excellent customer service. The FANS Lead supports operational goals through effective communication, staff support, quality monitoring, and adherence to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
Essential Functions
Oversees daily operations across café, patient services, and sanitation areas to ensure efficient workflow and service excellence.
Supports food and beverage preparation, cold food production, tray assembly, meal service, and patient meal delivery activities.
Assists with café operations, including customer service, cash handling, and point-of-sale transactions.
Monitors meal service timelines to ensure patients receive meals accurately and within established service standards.
Maintains clean, organized, and sanitary work environments in compliance with departmental, regulatory, and food safety requirements.
Monitors food handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Conducts patient and customer rounding to obtain feedback regarding food quality, meal service, and overall satisfaction.
Addresses service concerns and escalates issues as appropriate to leadership.
Supports onboarding, orientation, and training activities for new team members.
Provides day-to-day guidance, direction, and support to Food and Nutrition Services staff.
Communicates operational updates, concerns, and priorities to leadership and team members.
Assists with inventory management, supply replenishment, and stock rotation activities.
Promotes a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment.
Supports departmental quality, customer satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Knowledge of foodservice operations, customer service practices, and food safety principles.
Ability to lead and support team members in a fast-paced foodservice environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, team members, and leadership.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing operational priorities.
Knowledge of sanitation procedures, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements related to foodservice operations.
Ability to identify concerns and implement appropriate solutions to support efficient operations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
Commitment to quality service, patient satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Education
Associate Degree preferred.
Field of Study
Food Service Management, Nutrition, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Work Experience
Two years of institutional foodservice, healthcare foodservice, hospitality, or foodservice leadership experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) preferred.

Pay Range:
