Mechanical Design Engineer_ME
- Full-time
- Legal Entity: Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.
Company Description
Do you want beneficial technologies being shaped by your ideas? Whether in the areas of mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology or energy and building technology - with us, you will have the chance to improve quality of life all across the globe. Welcome to Bosch.
Job Description
Why Join Us? (Job Vision)
At Bosch, your role transcends conventional CAD modeling and technical drafting. As a core member of our safety-critical Electronic Control Unit (ECU) R&D team, you will stand at the very frontier of smart chassis and brake-by-wire technologies.
Here, you will act as both a "champion of RPP (Rationalization, Process, Product) technical cost optimization" and a "meticulous design engineer striving for zero-defect precision engineering". We seamlessly bridge advanced mechanical design and simulation with century-old German manufacturing excellence. Join us and work alongside the brightest minds to redefine the baseline of mobility safety with rigor and innovation!
Responsibilities
• RPP Cost Optimization Champion: Lead the technical cost optimization of ECU mechanical components. Independently conduct 360° technical feasibility evaluations (covering functional integrity, manufacturing processes, and 15-year automotive lifetime reliability) and deliver professional bilingual engineering reports.
• Guardian of Precision: Address complex, high-density structural packaging and mechanical integration using Creo. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to convey design intent perfectly, translating concepts into fully constrained, parametric 3D models and high-standard 2D technical drawings.
• Master of Tolerancing: Perform rigorous statistical tolerance stack-up analyses (Worst-Case and Monte Carlo methods) to find the optimum balance between manufacturing costs and assembly yields, ensuring first-time-right physical integration.
• DFMA & Process Alignment: Act as the technical bridge between design and manufacturing. Collaborate with suppliers and Bosch automated production lines to align precision manufacturing and assembly processes, implementing robust error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) strategies.
• Solid Team Backup: Manage engineering documentation archiving, perform standard specification retrieval, and actively stand in for routine tasks to support the team during critical product validation and testing phases.
Professional Growth
1. Automotive-Grade Transformation: Elevate your expertise by developing safety-critical ECU hardware. Transform your engineering background from other precision sectors into a high-barrier, highly valued Automotive Grade R&D career.
2. Distinguished Mentorship: Learn from our highly experienced technical experts and senior mentor team. Here, constructive technical debates and design reviews are active catalysts for your professional growth.
3. True German Engineering Culture: We reject bureaucracy and champion execution efficiency. We celebrate data-driven decisions, radical transparency, and absolute ownership. You are highly encouraged to satisfy your curiosity by exploring the "Physics of Failure" behind every test.
Qualifications
- Technical Hard Skills
• Education: B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
• The Toolbox: Proficient in Creo modeling, with a solid command of GD&T standards and tolerance stack-up methodologies.
• Manufacturing & Materials: Solid understanding of engineering plastics and metallic materials properties, as well as precision tooling structures and assembly processes.
• Strong Plus:
o Familiarity with ANSYS or Moldflow simulation tools.
o Good understanding of PCB design and process (PCB knowhow).
• Languages: Fluent English for global collaboration and professional technical presentations. - Soft Skills
• Ownership: Uncompromising dedication to quality; rigorous self-check habits to eliminate low-level dimensional errors and drive design issues to closure.
• To-the-point: Direct, precise, and highly logical communication style; quickly and accurately grasp the core design constraints and pain points of team members and clients.
• Humble: Open-minded; eager to learn from senior specialists and on-site assembly experts; view constructive feedback as an opportunity to grow.
• Proactive & Curious: Active pathfinder when blocked instead of passively receiving instructions; passionately curious about new technologies, materials, and the "Physics of Failure."
• Transparent & Reliable: Deliver on technical promises; communicate with high transparency; dare to expose risks and issues early, proactively escalating potential technical and quality risks without delay.
• Resilience: Maintain composure and a solution-oriented approach when facing high pressure or rejected designs.
