Job Purpose

The Head of IT Hub is a senior leadership position responsible for directing the operations and strategic planning of Kuehne + Nagel’s IT Hub in Cebu, Philippines. This role requires close collaboration with the Heads of Products to develop and execute both short- and long-term strategies, ensuring alignment with global goals while maintaining transparency and communication across product teams and IT communities. The Head of IT Hub will play a key role in operational service excellence, ensuring that information flows seamlessly between stakeholders, Product Group Leads and engineering managers, while continuously driving the development and performance of the IT team.

The Head of IT Hub will be tasked with managing annual budgets, aligning them with global finance targets, and collaborating with product group controllers and Heads of Products to ensure that staffing plans are effectively executed. This role requires results-oriented and innovative leader with a proven track record of driving change, hiring and developing the right teams, and cultivating a high-performance culture.The Head of IT Hub will also ensure the proper oversight of team dynamics, resolve conflicts and improve decision-making processes to enhance collaboration and efficiency. Strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities are essential, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization. The position requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both executive and non-executive audiences.

As part of the Corp IT (GI-G) Leadership team, the Head of IT Hub will be critical in shaping the direction of the Cebu IT Hub and function as a consultant to Heads of Product Portfolios.This executive must also be highly adaptable, balancing both strategic leadership and hands-on team development, with a solid understanding of the logistics domain and supply chain operations.

This role operates within a fast-paced and dynamic IT environment, requiring regular collaboration across cross-functional teams. The Head of IT Hub must remain deeply involved in both the strategic planning and execution of IT goals while managing day-to-day operations and development. The leader must be adaptable and willing to take a "player/coach" approach, balancing the development of strategies with hands-on leadership to grow the team and improve processes.Clear communication and the ability to influence others will be crucial in this role. The Head of IT Hub must be able to inspire collaboration across various teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This role requires not only a deep understanding of IT but also a strong customer focus to ensure that IT solutions meet business needs effectively.

Key Interactions

• CIO and Executive Leadership: The Head of IT Hub will work closely with the CIO and senior executives to ensure IT strategies are aligned with Kuehne + Nagel’s business objectives.This will include regular updates, strategic sessions, and a focus on organizational success.
• Technical Leadership Teams: Collaboration with engineering leads, product managers, and technical teams is essential to ensure the execution of IT strategies and successful delivery of results.
• HR Business Partners: The Head of IT Hub will collaborate with HR to manage recruitment, staffing, and employee development, ensuring the IT Hub is adequately staffed with top talent.
• External Stakeholders: The role involves representing the Cebu IT Hub within Kuehne+Nagel and to external partners, ensuring that external collaborations are aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Tasks

• Strategy Development and Execution: Lead the creation and execution of IT strategies in alignment with Kuehne + Nagel’s global digital transformation goals. Oversee day-to-day operations, manage budgets, and ensure high levels of performance.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaboration across teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders, including product leads, technical teams, and external partners. Work to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
• Talent Development and Leadership: Focus on team development, recruitment, and professional growth. Providing leadership and mentoring to engineering leads and product teams, while driving innovation and introducing new technologies to meet customer needs.
• Cost Management and Operational Excellence: Ensure cost-efficient operations while focusing on meeting customer expectations. Assist in establishing centers of excellence and furthering the maturity of the operating model.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in business
• administration or IT is highly desirable.
• Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in IT management, particularly in a development hub or similar operational setting. A proven track record in executing technology roadmaps and leading innovative technical teams is essential.
• Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on influencing and guiding teams through collaboration rather than direct management.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to executive stakeholders.
• Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of supply chain operations and logistics is essential. Familiarity with managing IT service providers through contracts and SLAs is beneficial.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency English (verbally and in writing) is required.
• Additional Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, a customer-focused mindset, and proficiency in using MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are also important.
