Completing any assigned floor care or projects in office space areas, general areas, restrooms, entrance ways, stairwells and elevators. Floor Technicians also ensure equipment is kept in proper working order and have good working knowledge of the uses of various floor care chemicals.
Typical schedule is overnight however must be flexible based on the start and end time of various scheduled events.
Essential Duties:
- Performs preventative maintenance checks on all floor maintenance equipment (vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, and general housekeeping equipment) prior to use at beginning and end of shift.
- Responsible for performing floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surfaces.
- Provides floor maintenance, including but not limited to, vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
- Report damage or areas that need further attention to management.
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to dusting, routine restroom and building cleaning.
- Interact in a professional manner when dealing with other building staff, clients, guests, supervisors and corporate staff.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
- Minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency.
- A Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, supplies, equipment, implements and devices used in cleaning a building or venue.
- Ability to understand English and follow oral and written instructions.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Possess knowledge of the operation, use and care of scrubbing machines, polishing and buffing machines and general housekeeping floor equipment.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, squat and lift approximately 30 lbs.
- Ability to move efficiently about the venue for extended periods of time including walking, riding, climbing stairs.
- Able to meet deadlines and work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work extended and flexible schedule including extended shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to maintain good business relations with all the employees and managers in other departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a cleaning environment for a large facility or venue.
