Our Consulting Delivery Hub (CDH) in India is a critical part of ERM’s global consulting model enabling scalable, high-quality delivery across regions and service lines. CDH teams work in close partnership with regional consultants to support global client projects, providing specialist expertise, driving consistency, and enhancing delivery efficiency across our most important programmes.

As part of the Consulting Delivery Hub, you will collaborate with colleagues worldwide, contribute to complex sustainability projects, and play a key role in shaping the future of global consulting delivery.

Why this role matters?

As a Biodiversity Consultant, you will support ERM's global Capital Project Delivery (CPD) work by delivering discrete biodiversity workstreams and producing high-quality baseline, impact assessments and reporting outputs across major infrastructure, renewables, transmission & distribution, hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage, mining and diversified energy projects. You will work within the CPD Nature & Biodiversity sub-team. This role is critical to scaling ERM's biodiversity delivery capacity.


What your impact is?

  • Deliver biodiversity baselines and ecological impact assessment chapters that meet UK/Irish regimes.

  • Manage discrete workstreams, coordinating CDH and regional inputs to deliver on time, on budget and to ERM quality, technical and Health & Safety standards.

  • Act as a trusted day-to-day point of contact for regional Task Leads on biodiversity workstreams, presenting findings clearly.

  • Support bids, proposals and thought leadership, and drive continuous improvement of templates, methodologies and CDH–region ways of working.

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in ecology, zoology, environmental science, conservation, biological sciences or a closely related discipline; a relevant MSc or Master's degree is desirable.

  • 2–3 years' relevant consulting, research or NGO experience, with a demonstrable track record of delivering biodiversity baselines chapters on infrastructure, energy or development projects.

  • Sound working knowledge of UK, Irish and international frameworks.

  • Strong report-writing skills for scoping reports, biodiversity chapters, technical appendices.

  • Working knowledge of GIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro / QGIS) to interpret habitat mapping, constraints and designated sites, and to produce clear figures for reports.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong quality and attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within scope, budget and time constraints across time zones.

Preferred skills & competencies

  • Prior experience delivering biodiversity chapters for NSIPs (DCO), TWAO, s.36 Electricity Act or comparable major infrastructure regimes.

  • Experience working in a global delivery, shared service or hub environment across time zones, alongside regional consultants.

  • Familiarity with automation, AI-enabled tools or digital habitat survey to support baseline, assessment and reporting workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Draft scoping reports and biodiversity chapters.

  • Manage discrete workstreams end-to-end — including scoping, planning, delivery, technical/QA review and client communication — and coordinate CDH inputs with regional Ecology Leads, Sub-Team Leads and Project Managers.

  • Contribute to bids, proposals, thought leadership and internal capability building — including standardising templates, method statements, tracker tools and technical guidance.

  • Maintain current knowledge of UK, Irish and international biodiversity policy, guidance and metrics.

  • Adhere to ERM's Health & Safety, ethics and quality management systems in all project work, including field surveys, sub-contractor management and CDM compliance.
