Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Semiconductor and Microelectronics Specialist to analyse device behaviour, review fabrication methods, assess technical data, and explain complex engineering concepts. The work may cover semiconductor physics, microfabrication, process integration, device modelling, scaling, and reliability. Previous AI experience is not required.

CONTRACT: Freelance contractor, project-based

COMMITMENT: Flexible, based on project workload

LOCATIONS: Fully remote

HOURLY RATE: $60-$130/h

PROCESS: Application review, subject-matter assessment, and client evaluation

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse semiconductor device physics and operating principles.
  • Review microfabrication and process-integration methods.
  • Assess device scaling, performance, yield, and reliability considerations.
  • Evaluate materials used in semiconductor and electronic-device fabrication.
  • Interpret technical datasets, research findings, and engineering documentation.
  • Create clear explanations of complex microelectronics concepts.
  • Identify technical gaps, inconsistencies, and unsupported conclusions.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve AI-generated engineering content.
  • Collaborate remotely with other technical contributors.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Professional or research experience in semiconductor devices or microelectronics.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor physics, device modelling, or reliability.
  • Experience with fabrication processes, microfabrication, or process integration.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and accurately.
  • Experience in semiconductor device design, manufacturing, or process development.
  • Background in yield optimisation, failure analysis, or reliability testing.
  • Experience contributing to technical publications, patents, or R&D programmes.
