Senior Financial Analyst – Accounting & Operations

Location: Islamabad, Pakistan — Hybrid

Work Schedule — Required

This position supports global operations and requires regular collaboration with international teams across multiple time zones.

Hybrid Schedule

Three days in-office→ remote:

  • 2:00 PM–5:00 PM PKT — in office
  • 7:00 PM–3:00 AM PKT — remote from home

Two days fully remote:

  • 6:00 PM–3:00 AM PKT

Applicants must be comfortable working an evening/night schedule aligned with international business operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Support and manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, financial schedules, reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Maintain General Ledger accuracy and investigate account discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate audit trails.
  • Apply sound accounting principles and support compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, UK accounting practices, or other applicable standards.
  • Support audit preparation, internal controls, compliance reviews, and financial governance initiatives.

Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting

  • Support annual budgeting, recurring forecasts, and financial planning activities.
  • Analyze actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform variance, trend, profitability, and cost analysis.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for senior leadership and operational teams.
  • Identify financial risks, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate financial data into clear insights and practical recommendations.
  • Track performance across projects, departments, clients, and business units.
  • Build, maintain, or utilize financial dashboards and reporting tools using Excel, Power BI, or similar business intelligence platforms to support leadership decision-making. 

Operational Finance

  • Support day-to-day finance operations across multiple client accounts and business functions.
  • Review and validate invoices, billing records, contracts, approvals, payment terms, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor client billing, vendor payments, accruals, aging reports, and transaction activity.
  • Investigate billing, payment, and reconciliation discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Support project accounting, cost tracking, utilization reporting, and financial performance monitoring.
  • Maintain strong financial documentation and operational controls.
  • Recommend improvements to finance workflows, reporting processes, and internal systems.

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with Payroll, HR, Operations, Project Management, Global Delivery, and senior leadership.
  • Communicate financial results, risks, and operational concerns clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support leadership with financial information required for business decisions.
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure financial and operational alignment.
  • Contribute to finance-related projects, system implementations, process improvements, and organizational initiatives.
  • Explain technical financial concepts in a clear, practical, and business-focused manner.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, operational finance, corporate finance, or a related function.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, financial statements, General Ledger activity, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Experience with operational finance activities such as billing, invoice validation, payment controls, project accounting, or cost tracking.
  • Ability to interpret financial information and explain its business impact.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-management skills.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, IRIS, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, CA, ACA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent qualification, whether qualified or actively progressing toward completion.
  • Experience supporting US, UK, or international finance operations.
  • Experience with IFRS, US GAAP, or UK accounting practices.
  • Public accounting, audit, financial reporting, or controllership experience.
  • Experience working across multiple entities, clients, projects, or business units.
  • Experience supporting global consulting, professional services, staffing, technology, or project-based organizations.
  • Experience improving financial systems, reporting processes, or internal controls.
  • Experience presenting financial findings to senior leadership.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is not limited to bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, audit, or traditional FP&A alone.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess strong accounting fundamentals and operational finance experience.
  • Understand how financial transactions flow through the General Ledger and financial statements.
  • Be able to support both detailed accounting work and broader financial analysis.
  • Confidently discuss month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Communicate technical financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of financial issues and follow them through to resolution.
  • Work effectively across departments in a fast-moving global environment.
  • Identify problems, investigate root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Have exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools, with the ability to quickly learn and expand reporting capabilities.

Compensation

PKR 150,000–200,000 per month

Compensation will be based on experience, technical qualifications, communication skills, and overall alignment with the position.
