Hours are somewhat flexible. About the role:Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems and products.Work ModeAt Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.RelocationRelocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.VISABoston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.Your responsibilities will include:Most testing is mechanical in nature – pull testing, flex testing, torque testing, extension/retraction testing with some high voltage/current testing. Most testing is semi-automated with meticulous setup requirements. Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting is uncommon.Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and capture data accurately is a must.PC knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and file sharing/saving abilities is also required.This role will involve R&D testing of medical products (leads and catheters). A wide range of tests could be performed including x-ray analysis, tensile testing, fatigue testing, and electrical testing.Exact assignment will depend on candidate skills and aptitude. Some testing could be repetitious in nature for short periods; however, there will be a variety of tests and candidate versatility will be important.Quality Systems Duties & Responsibilities:Build quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.Required qualifications:AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline (assembler, operator, test technician) and 1 year of related experience4-year degree applicants such as mechanical/electrical engineers will not be considered.Preferred qualifications:Experience with tensile testing, microscopy, or electrical measurement equipmentAbility to operate complex equipment; quick learnerStrong attention to detail and accuracyAble to work independently with minimal supervisionCapable of reading and following technical instructionsGood problem-solving and organizational skillRequisition ID: 630301 Minimum Salary: $ 43368 Maximum Salary: $ 73736 The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role.
