The Program Management Office (PMO) at Zoox is responsible for driving cross-functional program planning and execution at the highest level. We partner with leaders from across the company in vehicle development, system design, software engineering, manufacturing, fleet operations, and business functions to develop and deliver major corporate milestones on the path to launch, and beyond. Our program managers contribute to the end to end success of technical, integrated product milestones involving both of our vehicle platforms - the Toyota Highlander test fleet and Zoox’s purpose-built robotaxi.

In this role, you will:

  • Own fleet orchestration at Zoox: Lead the cross-functional strategy and execution to massively scale Zoox's fleet and mature our fleet orchestration capabilities as we expand into new cities and states. You'll span both of our fleets — the driverless robotaxi service and the autonomous test fleet — and optimize for the best outcome for the business as a whole. This is a high-leverage, high-impact role that is critical to how Zoox will scale.
  • Level up orchestration of the live service: Drive the roadmap and execution for the cloud systems that orchestrate our robotaxi service — optimally pairing rider trip requests with bots, keeping the fleet charged, and positioning vehicles to meet future rider demand — together with the mobile app experience they power. Partner closely with teams across the company (e.g., Product Software, Product, Data Science, and Fleet Operations) to ship improvements that riders and the business can feel.
  • Orchestrate the test fleet with the same ambition: Champion orchestration improvements for our autonomous test fleet, where smarter routing and mission assignment directly determine how efficiently we accumulate the on-road data that validates our system for new geofences. You'll partner closely with our test fleet data strategy and mileage accumulation program to make every mile count.
  • Lead with metrics: Define the KPIs that measure orchestration performance, build rigorous tracking mechanisms, and treat metrics as immediate triggers for action. Dig deep into root causes and always present concrete, data-backed plans rather than accepting the status quo.
  • Innovate without a playbook: Orchestrating an exponentially growing robotaxi fleet is largely uncharted territory. You'll engage deeply in technical trade-offs with engineers and data scientists, bring creative alternatives to the table when the ideal solution isn't available, and help invent orchestration capabilities the industry hasn't built yet.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of TPM experience, with a strong background in large-scale cloud software systems — e.g., dispatch, marketplace, or fleet management platforms, or consumer mobile apps backed by cloud services.
  • A naturally inquisitive, highly technical mindset. You catch on quickly in new technical domains, and you love creative problem-solving.
  • A metrics-first approach to program leadership. You define the right KPIs, instrument them, and use them to drive decisions and hold programs accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical bottlenecks into clear, data-backed executive narratives that enable timely, critical business decisions.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with fleet orchestration, ride-hailing, delivery, logistics, or other real-time marketplace and dispatch systems.
  • Familiarity with optimization problems such as routing, matching, resource allocation, or demand forecasting — and experience partnering with the teams who build them.
  • Experience with autonomous vehicle platforms or large-scale robotics fleets.
