The People function at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Director, Benefits to

join our team.

The Director, Benefits serves as the strategic leader responsible for shaping the Company's Health, Wellbeing and Retirement strategy, ensuring programs remain competitive, financially sustainable, operationally effective, and aligned with the Company's Total Rewards philosophy.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Total Rewards & People Operations, this role partners closely with Finance, HR Operations, Payroll, HRIS, Legal, Communications, brokers, consultants, and external vendors to continuously evolve our benefits portfolio while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory

compliance, and an exceptional employee experience.

While this position maintains a strong understanding of benefits administration and provides strategic oversight of day-to-day operations, its primary focus is to lead plan design, financial strategy, governance, market competitiveness, vendor management, and continuous improvement across the Company's benefits programs.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a strategic Benefits leader with deep expertise in health, wellbeing and retirement strategy, benefits financing, plan design, regulatory compliance, and governance.

You understand the operational mechanics behind benefits administration and can effectively guide and influence operational teams to ensure seamless execution. While the Benefits Administration team within HR Operations manages the day-to-day execution of the Company's programs, you provide the

strategic direction, governance, and continuous improvement necessary to deliver a best-in-class employee experience.

You are equally comfortable partnering with Finance on long-term cost strategies, influencing brokers and consultants, evaluating emerging market trends, preparing executive recommendations, and driving innovative benefit solutions that balance employee value, financial sustainability, and business

objectives.

You combine strong business acumen with analytical capabilities and are comfortable translating complex financial and regulatory concepts into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Plan Design

Develop and execute the Company's multi-year Health, Wellbeing and Retirement strategy, balancing employee experience, market competitiveness, financial sustainability, and operational excellence.

Own the strategic direction of the Company's benefits programs, ensuring alignment with business priorities and the Total Rewards philosophy.

Develop and recommend innovative benefit programs and plan design enhancements that improve employee experience while maintaining long-term financial sustainability.

Monitor healthcare, wellbeing, retirement, and regulatory trends to proactively recommend enhancements that strengthen the Company's employee value proposition.

Evaluate the Company's benefits portfolio against market practices, benchmark studies, and industry trends to ensure competitive positioning.

Financial Stewardship

Partner closely with Finance, brokers, and external consultants to develop long-term healthcare cost strategies, financial forecasts, and funding recommendations.

Develop a deep understanding of the financial and operational drivers of the Company's benefits programs, using data and market insights to recommend sustainable plan design and funding strategies.

Analyze claims experience, utilization trends, vendor performance, and plan costs to identify opportunities for optimization and cost containment.

Develop business cases, executive dashboards, and financial analyses supporting

Vendor & Consultant Management

Serve as the strategic relationship owner for brokers, consultants, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and wellbeing partners.

Influence and challenge external partners through market intelligence, financial analysis, and industry best practices to optimize plan performance and vendor outcomes.

Lead vendor performance reviews, contract negotiations, service-level agreements, and competitive RFP processes.

Benefits Operations & Continuous Improvement

Provide strategic oversight of benefits administration while partnering closely with the HR Operations Benefits Administration team responsible for day-to-day execution.

Continuously evaluate and improve benefits processes by leveraging technology, automation, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.

Partner with HRIS to optimize Workday Benefits functionality, system integrations, automation, and self-service capabilities.

  • Establish governance, documentation, controls, and standardized operating procedures that support operational excellence.

Lead enterprise initiatives related to benefits programs, including Open Enrollment, vendor implementations, technology enhancements, wellbeing initiatives, and process improvements.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, IRS, DOL, ADA, USERRA, and all other applicable federal and state regulations.

Lead regulatory filings, Form 5500 reporting, Summary Annual Reports, government reporting requirements, and internal/external audits.

Oversee governance activities supporting the Company's Retirement Plan Investment Committee, including fiduciary documentation, committee materials, and coordination with external advisors.

Ensure timely payments to benefits vendors, government agencies, and third-party administrators while maintaining strong financial controls.

Employee Experience

Own the overall strategy, planning, and execution of the Company's annual Open Enrollment process.

Partner with Communications and HR teams to develop comprehensive employee education and engagement strategies.

Continuously evaluate employee feedback and utilization data to improve the overall benefits experience.

Leadership

Lead the strategic Benefits Center of Excellence while providing strategic direction and guidance to the Benefits Administration function within HR Operations.

Develop, coach, and mentor a high-performing Benefits team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Build strong partnerships across Finance, Payroll, HRIS, Legal, Communications, HR Operations, and business leaders.

YOU HAVE:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience leading Benefits programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Deep expertise in U.S. health, wellbeing, and retirement programs, including plan design, financing, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Strong understanding of benefits administration and operational processes, with the ability to strategically guide operational execution.

  • Experience developing long-term benefits strategies and evaluating plan design alternatives.

Experience partnering with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and healthcare cost management.

Experience managing brokers, consultants, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.

Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, IRS, DOL, ADA, USERRA, and related regulations.

Experience with Workday Benefits, HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems.

Spanish and English fluency (written and verbal).

Proven ability to influence senior leaders and lead cross-functional initiatives.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Experience supporting self-funded healthcare plans, stop-loss arrangements, and alternative funding strategies.

Experience leading large-scale Open Enrollment cycles and major vendor implementations.

Strong financial modeling, analytical, and data interpretation skills.

Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Experience developing executive dashboards and KPIs.

CEBS, CBP, or other professional Benefits certifications preferred.

Experience within a large, complex, multi-state organization preferred.

Experience partnering with Centers of Excellence and HR Operations organizations in a shared services model preferred.
