Antenna Systems Hydraulic/Mechanical Technician
Responsibilities
We are seeking an Antenna Systems Hydraulic/Mechanical Technician to join our team at the Fort Irwin Complex in California to support our Space Communications Network Services Contract (DSN) with NASA.
The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.
Responsibilities:
- Painting and corrosion control of antenna surfaces
- Welding of antenna structural members
- Installation and repair of motors, pumps, hydraulic hoses and associated equipment
- Perform Preventive & Predictive maintenance to include lubrication of major gear assemblies, using IR, oil analysis and vibration monitors to predict failures
- Perform hoisting activities for heavy equipment at heights up to 150'
- Traverse antenna structure outside protected platforms using double lanyard techniques
- Perform work as required on tall scaffolding
- Perform grouting of major mechanical assemblies
- Perform mechanical alignments of major systems
- Interface with internal and external customers.
- Perform all duties consistent with this classification as assigned

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS 0-2 Years or HS 6-8
- Have the ability to obtain a California class "B" driver’s license
- Must be able to carry 50lbs
- Must be able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). To obtain clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship
- You must possess and retain a valid California Real ID driver’s license.
