Network Implementation Engineer - Fiber Delivery

Summary:

The Network Implementation Engineer is responsible for overall implementation, deployment and technical delivery of greenfield and brownfield fiber deployments and leased IRUs into the Meta production environment. Activities will include project managing the day-to-day activities of network development projects in North America, managing partners/contractors to deliverables, identifying and mitigating project risks, and developing and managing project budgets to ensure on-time delivery of the network to the business. In this role, you will collaborate with Network Development, Network Planning, Edge Network Deployment, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.

Required Skills:

Network Implementation Engineer - Fiber Delivery Responsibilities:

1. Management of the technical delivery and acceptance of Dark Fiber handover packages from vendors including fiber specs, test results, interpretation of OTDR traces, and other technical data as required

1. Manage new projects including full end-to-end requirements supporting network deployment project development in accordance with Meta standards

1. Collaborate across cross-functional teams to synchronize fiber deployment handoff schedules

1. Collaborate with Network Investment Managers to ensure that key technical requirements are included in the contracts

1. Mitigate risks for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnerships

1. Communicate upward of project risks to both the timeline and budget

1. Drive quality assurance and quality control of project management system updates and reporting

1. Service delivery of Project deliverables to Meta Cross Functional Partner teams, including all end-to-end elements in support of MPR(s) as applicable

1. Collaborate with Sourcing & Network Development on new project opportunities, potential partner or vendor identification, buildability, and high-level project budget

1. Support the internal team and other cross-functional departments as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta

1. 2+ years of project management experience with a focus on telecom and/or utility construction

1. Detailed understanding of the life cycle of fiber deployment, including planning, delivery, and performance

1. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, with experience using spreadsheet tools and/or programs

1. Experience in preparing and presenting quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis and reports

1. Detail-oriented with experience in managing multiple cross-functional tasks and projects

1. Understanding of key telecom milestones for the delivery of dark fiber routes

1. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

1. Knowledge of capital budget management. (i.e. project forecasting, management of accruals)

1. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

1. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

$106,995/year to $159,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
