Software Engineer (Java & Frontend)
Job Overview:
IQVIA is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Analytics Maintenance team. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing enterprise applications while ensuring timely resolution of client-reported issues within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
The successful candidate will work across both front-end and back-end technologies, investigate production issues, analyze application and database-related problems, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to ongoing platform improvements. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, debugging complex issues, working with databases, and delivering high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise software applications using Java and web technologies.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance-related problems.
Investigate client-reported incidents and perform root cause analysis to identify and implement sustainable solutions.
Write, analyze, and optimize SQL queries to support troubleshooting, reporting, and application functionality.
Work across both front-end and back-end layers of the application stack.
Support application maintenance, incident resolution, and enhancement activities.
Review functional requirements and assist in translating business needs into technical solutions.
Perform unit testing and support system validation activities.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and support teams to deliver effective solutions.
Create and maintain technical documentation related to enhancements, fixes, and support activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and platform modernization efforts.
Ensure timely response and resolution of issues while adhering to agreed service levels and operational processes.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
1–2 years of experience in software development, application support, or maintenance of enterprise applications.
Strong programming skills in Java.
Experience with frontend development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
Good understanding of relational databases and hands-on experience writing, troubleshooting, and analyzing SQL queries.
Knowledge of software development fundamentals and application architecture.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with AngularJS.
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and modern frontend development practices.
Exposure to Node.js or other backend technologies.
Experience supporting production applications or maintenance environments.
