Raytheon’s Airborne Sensor RF Design Department is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to work onsite at the McKinney, Texas location. The candidate will perform mechanical design, test, integration and documentation tasks for RF systems and sub-systems.  The qualified candidate will have extensive engineering experience related to development, procurement and manufacture of critical assemblies, subassemblies and parts. The role requires a high level of execution expertise across multiple functions including engineering, operations, and supply chain coupled with the ability to lead a team of engineers who engage with the supply base. This role leads a team of engineers across multiple disciplines who work to ensure that our factories receive compliant material on schedule.

What You Will Do *

  • The candidate will follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure that technical goals are met.

  • The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.

  • The candidate will be also responsible for meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for their work products.

  • Experience working with and directing suppliers is required.

  • Key expertise includes bid solicitation, contract negotiations, production support, and issue resolution.

  • Experience supporting international suppliers is a plus, as a key aspect of this role requires leading an international supplier of a critical mechanical assembly.

  • Experience working closely with Raytheon factories and coordinating internal and supplier production schedules such that suppliers deliver their material on time to meet production is also a plus.

Qualifications You Must Have *

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience.

  • Experience with mechanical design and integration of RF systems or subsystems.

  • Experience with bid solicitation and contract negotiations

  • Experience leading or managing a team

  • Experience managing Suppliers

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • May have deep knowledge of project management. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systems.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
