Responsibilities

The Operations Assistant serves as a key operational partner to the Underwriting Team within Berkley Alliance Managers, ensuring the efficient execution of underwriting support processes, regulatory compliance requirements, and agency management activities.

 

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Set up new business and renewal submissions within the Phoenix policy administration system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established underwriting procedures.
  • Create and distribute state-required regulatory letters while ensuring compliance with admitted and non-admitted filing requirements.
  • Maintain agency and agent records, validating licensing status and identifying discrepancies requiring corrective action.
  • Manage agency appointment activities and make recommendations regarding appointment processing based on regulatory and business requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain agency Errors & Omissions insurance documentation, proactively identifying gaps and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve compliance.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for managing the Operations email box, triaging requests, determining appropriate resolution paths, and facilitating timely responses.
  • Review and upload premium finance notices and certificates while ensuring documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in special projects, providing operational expertise, research, analysis, and implementation support.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to learn insurance-related administrative systems and software applications.

Education Requirement

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
