WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Voice of Customer & Market Insight
- Lead a structured Voice of Customer program focused on electrical contractors, OEMs, utilities, distributors and engineering firms.
- Conduct interviews, site visits, field observations, and product ride-alongs to understand installation challenges, safety concerns, and performance expectations.
- Translate customer feedback into clear product requirements for power connectors, including mechanical lugs, compression connectors, utility connectors and related accessories or service opportunities.
- Identify, charter and lead strategy projects to evaluate and provide strategic direction for innovative growth opportunities that leverage technology trends (e.g. connectivity), market trends, and integrated solutions.
- Partner with sales, technical support, channel teams and global product managers to gather ongoing feedback from the field.
Product Line Performance
- Lead all new product development related activities and champion cross-functional activities to improve speed to market.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations to ensure manufacturability, cost targets, and scalability.
- Partner with marketing to develop technical collateral, training materials, and go-to-market messaging.
- Track and manage success of new product launches compared to project targets and develop corrective action plans when needed.
- Manages product specification, cost, quality, delivery, and data integrity as it relates to new products in collaboration with the global product manager.
Product Life Cycle Management
- Participate in cross-functional new product development teams. Lead all marketing aspects associated with the product definition, product development, pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and promotion plans in collaboration with the global product manager.
- Working closely with Finance, lead development of the pro forma with complete financial analysis and sales forecast for all proposed new products.
- Develop the positioning strategy of all new products and services considering price, volume, share and profitability.
- Conduct VOC to identify market requirements and trends to drive continuous improvements and to identify product enhancements opportunities. Ensures assigned products are responsive to market needs to maintain and/or improve market penetration and share position.
- Monitor and assess competitive products and programs and as a result develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s competitive edge.
- Suggest and drive process improvements in product management in their area of responsibility.
Market Research, Analysis, and Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct market research – gather and maintain relevant market data and competitive intelligence. Communicate key findings to other key stakeholders. Synthesize conclusions from such research to drive action.
- Assist in the research, analysis and definition of new and emerging opportunities/trends and current business relevant to assigned products.
- Benchmark competitive products to aid in developing winning products.
Marketing Communications Tools
- Work collaboratively with Marketing Communications team to develop appropriate marketing plans.
- Support the Marketing communications team to develop appropriate collateral support for catalogs, launch kits, competitive alerts, sales communications, instruction sheets, etc.
- Accountable for inputs into Creative Brief used for development of materials such as catalogs, launch kits, competitive alerts, sales communications, specifically :
- Value Proposition Development
- Target Market / Audience Descriptions
- Positioning
- Features & Benefits
New Product Training:
- Works collaboratively to develop training materials for the assigned products to support training programs.
- Delivers training in person, web-ex
YOU HAVE:
- BS or BA degree in Marketing, Engineering or Business is required, MBA is preferred.
- Product Marketing, Product Management or related product experience in the industrial/mechanical/electrical space is required.
- Advanced English.
- Availability to travel up to 50% of time.
- Solid experience interacting with both internal and external customers is required.
- Hands on experience working with end users, distribution channels, direct sales, and manufacturer’s reps is required.
- Proven skills in product marketing
- Proven ability to lead and drive large cross-functional teams to success in challenging situations
- Must works well with others - inspires trust and open communication amongst team members and peers
- Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization cross-functionally
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong active listening skills
- Proven ability to analyze, interpret and draw meaningful and accurate conclusions from data
- An energetic, resourceful and hands-on individual with a strong bias for action, someone who commits himself/herself fully to stretch goals and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding results
