Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise in the selection, design, implementation and ongoing management of instrumentation and analytical equipment within Large Industries facilities. The incumbent is responsible for direct, hands-on implementation as well as coordination of contractor, and Air Liquide field personnel, while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives.
Key responsibilities:
The scope of the support includes maintenance and improvement projects locally planned and executed. Responsible for the technical assessment as part of the Non-Complex MOC process, as well as response to calls from a variety of sources for trouble-shooting and general support in this field. Activities include actual hands-on support or the coordination of other specialists as the job requires and provides guidance as to the application of industry and AL best practices in this domain.
Fulfill the project manager role for selected initiatives utilizing Project Management principles. Assists in the development of control strategies and narratives for implementation. Specifies, sources and selects instruments, evaluates and selects suppliers and consultants for production and project needs.
Works within his/her team as well as with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the work process. Provides input for new projects as required. Champion new initiatives of automation, control and design for reliability.
Provides internal training/mentorship to Large Industries personnel regarding
instrumentation and analytical equipment with regards to best practices in terms of control philosophies, documentation, operations and maintenance.
Actively promotes ALC safety and quality objectives. Knows and respects all procedures as indicated in the Air Liquide Management System. Make sure the appropriate corrective and preventive measures are in place in order to answer customer complaints. Responsible for the documentation and record keeping of the site’s Safety Instrument System (SIS/EIS) in accordance with Regulatory and LI-NAM requirements.

Required qualifications:
Technical Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls or demonstrated ability and experience in this role.
Training: Foxboro, Bailey, SCADA, Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Delta-V, Wonderware
Instrumentation, Analytical equipment, control systems, PLC, DCS, telemetry, HMI’s.
Bilingual French/English is an asset.
Knowledgeable in Air Separation, HYCO and Cogeneration technology is an asset.
