The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, and inspiring Sales Manager Benelux to lead our commercial development across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. In this high-impact leadership role, you will work closely with the Country Managing Director to shape and execute the commercial strategy, driving sustainable and profitable growth while identifying both immediate opportunities and long-term growth potential. You are someone who naturally builds momentum, develops strong and lasting relationships, and has the energy and presence to engage customers, partners, and teams alike. With a keen understanding of market dynamics, you are constantly asking where the business is heading, where value can be created, and how new opportunities can be converted into lasting success.

You will play a key role in expanding our customer base and strengthening our position across strategic segments including Energy & Utilities, Renewables, Data Centers, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), Industry, Food & Pharma, and EPC. Leading a team of Strategic Account Managers, Key Account Managers, Account Managers, and Business Developers across Belgium and the Netherlands, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, inspiring your team to identify opportunities, unlock growth, and create long-term value for customers and Hitachi Energy alike.
You will lead a team of sales professionals based in Belgium and the Netherlands, including Strategic Account Managers, Key Account Managers, Account Managers, and Business Developers, and play a key role in strengthening our market position in the Benelux region.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially driven professional with strong market knowledge, a proven ability to develop business in complex industrial environments, and the leadership skills to inspire teams and deliver results.
How you'll make an impact
Drive the Benelux commercial strategy and growth
Define and shape the regional commercial strategy together with the Country Managing Director, translating strategic priorities into a clear and actionable growth roadmap. Develop and execute a robust business development plan to achieve sustainable and profitable order intake across targeted market segments.Expand market presence and customer base
Identify and develop new business opportunities across key sectors (Energy & Utilities, Renewables, Data Centers, Battery Energy Storage, Industry, Food & Pharma, and EPC).Build and strengthen long-term relationships with customers, EPC contractors, consultants, and partners to reinforce our position in the Benelux market.
Lead and develop a high-performing sales team
Manage, coach, and inspire a team of sales professionals across Belgium and the Netherlands, fostering a collaborative, performance-driven, and customer-centric culture. Support the team in complex sales cycles, strategic account development, and key negotiations.Ensure commercial excellence and execution discipline
Drive structured sales execution through pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and effective use of CRM tools. Monitor performance, ensure delivery against targets, and continuously improve sales processes and effectiveness.Leverage market intelligence and cross-functional collaboration
Analyze market trends, customer needs, competition, and regulatory developments to identify growth opportunities. Work closely with internal stakeholders (business units, marketing, engineering, tendering, and service teams) to deliver integrated, value-driven customer solutions.Act as a senior commercial ambassador
Represent the company externally in customer engagements, industry events, and strategic forums, while promoting a culture of safety, integrity, and compliance across all commercial activities.
Your background
University degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a similar sales leadership, business development, or commercial management role within an industrial, technical, or project-driven environment.
Strong experience in defining commercial strategies, driving business growth, and building structured development plans in a regional market.
Demonstrated success in managing and developing sales teams, ideally in a multi-country or matrix environment.
Good knowledge of the Benelux market, including customer landscape, competition, sales dynamics, and business opportunities in relevant sectors.
Proven ability to develop business in one or more of the following sectors: Energy, Pharma, Data Centers, Renewables, Battery Energy Storage, Industrial processing, Food, and EPC.
Strong experience in solution selling, strategic account management, negotiation, and managing complex commercial opportunities with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication, influencing, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Structured, hands-on, and result-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a strong asset.
Willingness to travel regularly across Belgium and the Netherlands.
