This position is for an 8-12 week Internship to be conducted in Summer of 2027 (Jun-Sep 2027).
*Minimum 12 weeks Internship is required for all International hires (who require JP VISA Support)*
An Amazon MBA summer internship, consists of leading a strategic project that is data intensive, analytical, centered on a real business issue, and representative of the full-time role.
Interns will have ownership of a high profile project within a business organization team, where they will partner with key business groups and clients. By participating in the internship, you will have opportunities to analyze unique business ideas, make data driven decisions and provide input to drive meaningful change. Each intern will have exposure to upper level management (including Vice Presidents and Directors) and the opportunity to apply general business skills to support successful execution of corporate strategies.
About the Sr. Product Manager Role:
As an MBA hire, you will join as a Senior Product Manager across our Corporate Organizations (Marketplace, Retail, Amazon Business, Payments, Manga etc.) within Amazon Japan. Sr. Product Managers at Amazon are responsible for customer experiences with considerable scope and complexity — whether a complete product, a significant capability within a platform, or a customer-facing experience requiring cross-team coordination.
You will own defining the strategic vision for your product, establishing a roadmap, and driving teams to deliver large or significant features. You will work closely with engineering, design, account management, marketing, legal, operations, and finance teams. This role is high visibility, strategic in nature, and drives a meaningful part of the business and customer experience.

*Sr. Product Manager:
Sr. Product Managers are responsible for managing the lifecycle of a product with considerable impact to our Retail or Marketplace businesses. You will own defining the strategic vision for the product, establishing a roadmap, and driving teams to deliver large or significant features. You will work closely with product management, engineering, account management, marketing, legal, operations, and finance teams around the world. The ideal candidate operates with total autonomy, thrives in ambiguous situations, and is able to earn trust and influence across a high level of seniority.
*Sr. Marketing Manager:
Sr. Marketing Manager is responsible for creating the marketing strategy and operations for the Appstore (CAPE) business. You will help develop and execute the marketing strategy for key campaigns and and will be responsible for the end-to-end Go To Market (GTM) strategy for high-visibility product launches and feature releases. You will also compile and analyze traffic and other web metrics, and report on performance to our senior management teams.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple projects, and work with multiple teams, vendors, partners, and management as needed. You will have first-class written and verbal communication skills, and be comfortable negotiating with key business partners and global Amazon teams to gain alignment on marketing plans and ultimately manage all aspects of project execution.

A day in the life
Your days will vary — some days you'll be deep in customer data and usage analytics; other days you'll be whiteboarding solutions with engineers or presenting trade-off recommendations to your stakeholders. You might spend a morning conducting customer interviews, then use those insights to refine your product requirements in the afternoon. Throughout it all, you'll be making decisions — balancing customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility. You'll participate in team rituals (sprint planning, WBRs, product reviews) and experience firsthand how Amazon builds products at scale.
Where You Could Work: Internship placements span our Corporate Organizations including Marketplace, Retail, Amazon Business, Payments and Manga etc. within Amazon Japan. Your specific project will be matched based on your interests, skills, and business needs.
- 3+ years of full-time industry work experience prior to starting your MBA or Master's program
- Available to participate in a full-time, 8-12 week Summer Internship in Tokyo, Japan (Jun-Sep 2027)
- Business level fluency in English (written and verbal)
- 4+ years of work experience prior to your MBA
- Prior experience in product management, strategy consulting, business development, or technology — through internships, full-time roles, or side projects
- Demonstrated ability to take an idea from concept to execution — whether in work, academic projects, or entrepreneurial ventures
- Experience using data and customer insights to inform decisions
- Comfortable with ambiguity — you thrive when the problem isn't clearly defined and you need to figure out the "what" before the "how"
- Curiosity about how products are built and how technology creates value for customers

- Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA- 3+ years of full-time industry work experience prior to starting your MBA or Master's program
- Available to participate in a full-time, 8-12 week Summer Internship in Tokyo, Japan (Jun-Sep 2027)
- Business level fluency in English (written and verbal)
Preferred qualifications
- Business level fluency in Japanese (N1+)- 4+ years of work experience prior to your MBA
