Salary range: An annual salary range of $180,000 - $190,000 is what we expect to pay for this position, based on overall skills and experience.

What You'll Do:
The SVP, ABL Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of asset-based lending relationships, ensuring credit quality, collateral integrity, and profitability across an assigned book of business. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for existing clients, partners closely with Relationship Managers and Underwriting to structure and monitor facilities secured by accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, and other collateral, and plays a key role in identifying and mitigating portfolio risk. The role requires deep technical expertise in borrowing base mechanics, field examination findings, and financial statement analysis, combined with strong client relationship and leadership skills.
Portfolio Management & Credit Oversight
- Manage a portfolio of ABL relationships, monitoring borrowing base certificates, collateral reporting, and covenant compliance on an ongoing basis
- Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow trends, and collateral performance to identify early warning signs of credit deterioration
- Partner with Field Examination and Appraisal teams to schedule and review collateral exams and inventory/equipment appraisals; assess findings and adjust advance rates or reserves as warranted
- Prepare and present annual reviews, renewals, and periodic credit updates to credit committee
- Oversee accurate and timely risk rating of assigned credits in accordance with bank policy
Relationship & Deal Management
- Serve as primary contact for assigned clients on day-to-day portfolio matters, servicing requests, waivers, and amendments
- Partner with Relationship Managers and Originators on add-on facilities, upsizes, refinancings, and cross-sell opportunities
- Coordinate with Legal and Closers on documentation of amendments, waivers, and new money transactions
- Manage borrowing base availability, overadvances, and reserves in coordination with Operations
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure the portfolio adheres to internal credit policy, regulatory requirements, and lending guidelines
- Identify and escalate problem credits; participate in workout/restructuring strategy alongside Special Assets when needed
- Maintain audit-ready files and documentation to support internal and regulatory examinations
- Monitor industry, sector, and macroeconomic trends that may affect portfolio risk
Leadership & Collaboration
- May mentor or oversee junior portfolio managers/analysts, reviewing their work and providing technical guidance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Underwriting, Field Exam, Legal, Operations, and Special Assets
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and policy development for the ABL platform
What Do You Need?
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in asset-based lending, commercial credit, or a related portfolio management/underwriting role
- Strong understanding of borrowing base mechanics, collateral monitoring, and field examination/appraisal review
- Advanced financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and covenant analysis skills
- Experience managing a diverse portfolio across industries and credit sizes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to credit committees
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal credit training (bank-sponsored credit program or equivalent)
- Experience with syndicated or multi-lender ABL facilities
- Prior exposure to workout, restructuring, or special assets processes
- Familiarity with industries such as manufacturing, distribution, retail, or transportation
