Key job responsibilities
- Support the management and governance of UK and Ireland pension schemes, including trustee/governance committee coordination, member communications, and regulatory filings
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and frameworks that identify, assess, and mitigate pension-related risks across international retirement plans
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks, ensuring operations meet risk tolerance thresholds
- Monitor auto-enrolment compliance (UK and Ireland) and ongoing adherence to TPR and Pensions Authority requirements
- Create and execute corrective action plans to resolve vulnerabilities and address emerging risk scenarios, including proactive identification of compliance gaps and fiduciary threats
- Support vendor management activities including advisor reviews, fee benchmarking, and service level monitoring
- Research risk scenarios and develop automated dashboards using data analytics and AI tools to monitor country-specific risk inventories, track regulatory changes, and support data-driven decision-making
- Coordinate with investment advisors and trustees on scheme performance monitoring and fund reviews
- Partner with payroll, HR, and benefits teams to ensure accurate contribution processing and resolve member queries or escalations
- Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting UK, Irish, and international pension programs and translate insights into actionable strategies

A day in the life
As a Global Retirement & Risk Manager, your work will span plan management and risk oversight across our international retirement portfolio. Your day might include supporting pension scheme governance activities for the UK and Ireland, such as trustee meeting coordination, reviewing member communications, or assessing regulatory changes from TPR or the Irish Pensions Authority. In the afternoon, you might shift to building a risk dashboard to track compliance metrics across multiple EU countries, or developing a corrective action plan to address an emerging regulatory gap in another market.

You'll work closely with our retirement professionals, legal advisors, trustees, and external consultants on regulatory requirements, vendor management, and plan governance. You'll stay current on evolving pension legislation across the UK, Ireland, and EU, translating those insights into risk-adjusted strategies that keep our programs compliant and resilient.

Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks
- Experience in pension plan management, retirement program administration, or benefits management, including governance, regulatory compliance, and member administration
- Experience with UK and/or Irish pension schemes (defined contribution and/or defined benefit)
- Experience in compliance, governance, audit, or risk management
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookups)

Preferred qualifications

- Professional pension qualifications (e.g., PMI, IIPM, CFA, actuarial credentials) or equivalent pension industry experience
- Experience with UK master trusts, GPPs, or Irish PRSAs and occupational pension schemes
- Experience identifying and resolving complex issues in a business environment
- Experience working effectively with ambiguity, prioritizing competing needs, and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience planning, managing, and delivering documentation and communications across multiple teams
- Experience managing trustee or governance committee relationships
- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and collaborating across functional teams, geographies, and business units
- Experience delivering results on large, cross-functional initiatives and projects
- Experience with AI-powered analytics tools, automation platforms, or predictive modeling for risk monitoring and reporting
- Ability to work proactively and independently while meeting deadlines on complex projects and tasks
