In the Digital Age, Content is Everything.

The way enterprises create, share, and distribute content is changing fast. At the frontier of that change are software developers in regulated industries who need a content platform that is open, composable, and built to last. That's where we come in.

Say hello to Strapi — we're on a mission to empower millions of people to create & share content.

More than just a headless CMS, Strapi is building the first open, composable content platform: infinitely customizable, powered by the largest open-source community, and backed by a rich, growing ecosystem.

🎯 Why This Engagement Matters

Strapi is building a dedicated outbound motion to reach the software developers and engineering-led teams in regulated industries who are the best fit for our self-hosted Enterprise product. Today, most of our pipeline arrives inbound. This engagement exists to change that — to proactively find and open conversations with the developers and technical leaders who haven't found us yet.

This isn't spray-and-pray prospecting. Our buyers are technical, and generic outbound gets deleted. We're looking for a freelance Technical BDR who can write and speak credibly to a developer audience — referencing real architecture, integration, and compliance concerns — so that by the time a conversation reaches one of our Technical Account Executives, it's a genuinely qualified, well-understood opportunity.

You'll work independently against agreed targets and deliverables, coordinating with Strapi's Sales and Marketing functions on sequencing and targeting, and handing off qualified opportunities to the Technical Account Executive team.

💙 What Working With Strapi Sales Looks Like

Technical credibility, not technical theater. We reach out to developers. That means understanding enough about how Strapi fits into a real architecture, the frameworks it connects to, the tradeoffs of self-hosted versus cloud-managed, to have a conversation worth their time, not just a script.

Empathy and care. Good outbound respects the other person's time and starts a conversation. It doesn't just chase a reply.

Ownership of the top of funnel. You'll own an agreed pipeline of target accounts and prospects end-to-end: research, outreach, qualification, with a clean, well-documented handoff to the Account Executive team.

🗓 Scope of Work

  • Research and build target account and prospect lists of developers and engineering leaders at companies in regulated industries, aligned to Strapi's ideal customer profile.
  • Run personalized, technically credible outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn, and phone, grounded in real developer pain points rather than generic sales language.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads against Strapi's ICP before handing off warm, well-documented opportunities to Technical Account Executives.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Revenue Operations on account-based and intent-triggered outbound campaigns, including AI-assisted outbound sequences.
  • Keep HubSpot pipeline data, sequence status, and lead notes accurate and current.
  • Contribute learnings back to Sales and Marketing on what's converting, to help sharpen targeting and messaging.

🧠 What We're Looking For

  • Technical curiosity. Comfortable talking with developers and understands enough about APIs, modern web architecture, or developer tooling to write outreach that doesn't read as generic.
  • BDR/SDR experience in B2B SaaS or with Content Management Systems (CMS), ideally selling to technical or engineering-led buyers.
  • Strong written communication. Outbound that sounds like a person who understands the reader's problem, not a template.
  • Organized and metrics-driven. Comfortable owning outbound cadences, target volumes, and a pipeline of accounts at once.
  • HubSpot fluency or the ability to get there quickly.
  • Able to operate independently and deliver against agreed targets with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Registered/eligible to invoice as a freelancer or independent contractor in one of the listed locations.

Bonus points if you:

  • Have familiarity with the modern content delivery ecosystem.
  • Have sold or prospected into regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
  • Have experience with outbound tooling such as Clay, Lemist, and/or Apollo.
  • Have developed professional software while in a full-time position, or as a side project.
