Sr. Research Data Analyst (DOM Infectious Disease)

The Center for Infectious Diseases in India (CIDI) in the Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a Sr. Research Data Analyst (Sr. RDA) to lead analytics for multiple projects within the Center. The Sr. RDA will be active in the data pre-processing stages as well as the analysis and interpretation of results. The Sr. RDA will be involved in designing and developing analysis plans involving genomic analysis (Illumina, nanopore, RNA-seq, and nano String data), application-based data representation (e.g., Rshiny), and epidemiological methods (e.g., mixed methods and predictive analytics). The position will interact with other data analysts, genomics experts, laboratory staff, and clinicians. This position requires the ability to independently analyze and interpret clinical and genomic data, explore and select appropriate analytic methods and models, and conduct statistical analyses independently. Analysis will be interpreted and presented in collaboration with clinical and scientific investigators. The position will include research and study design, data analysis planning and execution, grant applications, and preparation of presentations and publications. The position will work independently and in collaboration with faculty to solve problems posed by the clinical and laboratory investigators along the study design, data generation, collection, and management process, regulatory approvals, adherence to data storage, sharing, and dissemination rules, and to ensure successful progression of associated research projects. The Sr. Research Data Analyst will build complex data models and conduct complex data analysis in support of research projects, programs, and/or studies. The Sr. Research Data Analyst is responsible for the coordination of data and data analysis activities across multiple studies. Specific Duties & Responsibilities * Develop, manage, and maintain a database for study data for multiple studies. * Develop standard operating procedures for initial data entry and data updates. * Oversee quality control procedures for databases and ongoing analysis. * Develop data models. * Conduct statistical analyses of data collected in this system to support empirical study. * Build transmission models. * Create and curate software tools across diverse programming languages in support of research efforts. Other duties include * Consults with investigators to determine their needs with respect to analysis of data in collaboration with a member of the faculty. * Maintains appropriate systems for database-associated management, including preparing codebooks, cleaning data, creating analytic data sets, and performing quality assurance/quality control. * Carries out appropriate methodological procedures for statistical analysis of data, ranging from descriptive exploratory data analyses to causal inference. * Create and curate software tools across diverse programming languages in support of research efforts, with routine translation of data, models, and tools between languages. * Prepares written reports of the statistical analyses, including relevant statistical theory, references, methods, results, and conclusions. * Plan data management, including determining type format of data and types of documentation, considering privacy, confidentiality, and other ethical issues. * Clean data by coding missing data, fixing or deleting miscoded data, transforming variables into more useful formats, and annotating the data properly.
