It’s real systems, at real scale, people solving some of the hardest challenges in technology today.We’re looking for people who want to build, solve, and operate at that level.Join us and let’s shape the future of data.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in a structured network engineering project under the supervision of Global Network Services engineersAssist in gathering, analyzing, and visualizing network operational dataSupport development of automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or similar toolsLearn and apply AI/ML concepts to network operations and observability use casesAssist in documenting network infrastructure, operational procedures, and project findingsCreate dashboards, reports, and presentations for technical and management audiencesCollaborate with network, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data analytics teamsPresent project outcomes and recommendations at the conclusion of the internshipFollow WD information security, compliance, and engineering standardsThis position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.QualificationsREQUIRED:Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Data Science, or equivalent experienceThe Internship/Co-op period is at least 4-6 monthsNetworking fundamentals (Routing, Switching, VLANs, IP)Basic scripting or automation (Python / Bash preferred)Network monitoring tools awareness (SNMP, SYSLOG, dashboard tools)Documentation and technical writing Problem analysis and structured troubleshootingCross-functional communication and collaborationTime management and ability to deliver within project scopeSKILLS:Technical Knowledge, basic understanding of:TCP/IP NetworkingSwitching and Routing conceptsVLANs, DNS, DHCPWireless networking fundamentalsNetwork monitoring conceptsTechnical Skills:Basic programming knowledge (Python preferred)Data analysis and visualization skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft ExcelPower BI or equivalent toolsUnderstanding of AI/ML concepts is a plusSoft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesGood communication and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentStrong learning mindset and curiosity about emerging technologiesDemonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written/verbal)Additional Information#LI-SB1WD thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
