Job TitleWork-Study Assistant (Residential Student Technicians) | Office of Housing & Residence Life-1 Agency Prairie View A&M University Department FAID Work Study Proposed Minimum Salary$7.25 hourly Job LocationPrairie View, Texas Job TypeStudent Worker Job Description Multiple Vacancies Available Across Campus Residential Student Technicians (RSTs) support the daily operations of the Office of Housing & Residence Life by providing customer service, administrative assistance, operational support, and engagement initiatives that contribute to a safe, welcoming, and student-centered residential community. Assignments vary based on departmental needs and may include front desk operations, office support, residential life/education, facilities support, summer conferences or special events, special projects, and other departmental initiatives. Essential Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, faculty, staff, and visitors. Assist with front desk operations, office coverage, and administrative tasks. Answer phones, emails, and general housing inquiries. Support residence hall opening, closing, move-in, and move-out processes. Assist with educational, social, and departmental events. Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to professional staff. Provide logistical and set-up/tear down support for event spaces Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and university policies. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Current Prairie View A&M University student. Eligible for Federal Work-Study. Good academic (minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA) and disciplinary standing Ability to work up to 20 hours per week. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills. Dependable, organized, and professional. Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal communication. Professional judgment and problem-solving. Time management and reliability. Commitment to customer service and teamwork.
